We stayed here for two nights whilst on our safari, the road to the camp was non existant due to the rains but when we got there it was worth the drive. The tents were large with excellent en-suite showers and toilets with plenty of hot water supplied by the solar panels. It was very dry whilst we were there... More

Oh what a delight this camp is. Not only fantastic scenery (Mt Kilimanjaro directly in front of our tent), but lovely lovely staff and enough food for one, which would feed a family, at each sitting. It took roughly 2 hours to reach the camp from Kilimanjaro Airport along a very bumpy and dusty road, but wow it was certainly... More

Located on the northwest foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro, Kambi ya Tembo is within the Sinya Reserve, a Masai controlled area that extends north to the Amboseli Reserve in Kenya. It is a delightful tented camp operated by Tanganyika Wilderness Camps, very well managed by Sylvester and his excellent staff. My tent, # 1, was clean and comfortable with views extending... More

This place was a little far out to get to, but when you arrive it's fantastic! The accomodations are large tents (ones that have washrooms and showers) and have a sitting area in the front. The dining area is open and the food was amazing. It's all you can eat and all you can drink. Didn't find that anywhere else... More

Most people when visiting north Tanzania automatically go for the tried and tested, Serengeti, Ngornogoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire and few thing to head East into Kilimanjaro National Park (unless they are climbing the mountain). Hidden away in its own private concession is this wonderfully rustic and charming camp. Tents laid out with either a view of Kilimanjaro or a... More

Our first safari stop after spending the night near the airport. Lovely, wild terrain, definitely less traveled, not at all touristy. The staff was wonderfully welcoming and friendly. Food was decent enough and service was excellent. Spent 2 nights there and saw an abundance of wildlife, took a relaxing nature walk, and went to a Massai Village and witnessesd a... More

Kambi ya Tembo was our first stop for two nights on our 12 day/10 night safari of the northern circuit. The drive from Arusha was about 2 hours over paved and gravel roads; not a long distance by Northern Tanzania standards. The scenery varied from lush and green near Arusha, transitioning to farmland along the rolling hills then to dry... More

My friends and I stayed here in late May and since it was low season, they gave us two tents. We stayed in the one with twin beds and my friend had the tent next door. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff were to us. The camp was very nice and a little basic, but comfortable and... More

Long drive from Arusha over very tough roads. The camp is a beautiful setting with zebra and giraffe walking through the camp. There is a great variety of bird life in the area and the park is rich with wildife. Very dry and dusty when I was there with severe drought conditions. Careful of the food and water! I got... More
