Striking the perfect balance between the spirit of classic tented safaris and timeless modernity, Singita Sabora Tented Camp is located right on the Serengeti plains, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the camp’s unrivalled setting and maximising the thrill of sleeping under canvas. In the main lodge, a unique “Guest Deli” boasts wicker baskets and fridges filled with gourmet bites, from which guests can select treats to enjoy in their suites. There’s a separate pool area, two intimate dining rooms and an open-plan bar and lounge – all adding to Sabora’s understated look, which emphasises tailored luxury. Offering superb game-viewing opportunities all year round, the camp is also set on the Great Wildebeest Migration route; and guided game walks on foot further enhance experiencing the Serengeti plains up close. Featuring nine tented suites set close to the ground, the camp echoes the earthy colour palette of the bush, while modern interpretations of campaign furniture evoke the romance of East African adventures. Each immaculate suite offers sweeping views, a meditation deck, a private fitness area and a secluded outdoor sala with daybeds and scatter cushions from where to marvel at the wildlife passing by. They also boast a beautifully curated kitchenette and dining area.

A+ Outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, our hosts were gracious and welcoming. Our tour guide, Japhet, was very knowledgeable, friendly and assisted us in seeing loads of animals (Lions, Zebra, Elephants, Baboons, Giraffe, Wildebest, Water Buffalo). Our hostess, Semmy, was always focused on ensuring we ate healthy, but tasty, food and that our tented camp house was well stocked with food and drinks. Edward was very friendly and always assisted us with tasks. Mr Willie kept us safe at night, and Mr Gideon was an outstanding housekeeper. This was a once in a lifetime experience and enhanced by the wonderful staff. We hope to return one day and see more of the beautiful Grumeti region. Thank you again!

Great service, great location, great hardworking staff. Nothing bad to really say about the hotel, the lodge, the awesome tent room (spacious and well appointed, indoor/outdoor shower, private toilet room, room darkening, a/c, nice deck, hot water, desk, room dividers, front porch too) and the camp main lodge is good. Our safari guide was really good. Plenty of food available here. Just wish Grumeti park had more animals. They could get 5x more of every animal and it still wouldn't fill the place. The grounds/acres to animal ratio seemed sparse at times. This park is huge! Plenty of lions, elephants, giraffe, zebra and buffalo, everything else from hippo, to wildebeast to hyena to cheetah to leopard etc - they need more of. Rhino if they could get them here would be nice. Felt like, at a few times, we had to drive a long ways at times to find animals or to get to where the resided in the park. The flies in the park are bad and annoying when on game drives. If go here, perhaps go during the migration. That I would consider coming back for. They wont drive into the serengiti either, that's not allowed, so if the animal crosses over, you don't.

Response from Singita Traveller, General Manager at Singita Sabora Tented Camp
Responded 12 Jan 2024
Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent visit to Sabora. We are so happy that you enjoyed your time at the lodge and our wonderful staff. Visiting wildlife areas can be tricky as it is never guaranteed what will be on our property at any given time. We are having an unusually wet season and as such, a lot of the general game has moved to higher regions which are situated just south of us in the Serengeti National park. We are able to visit the National Park but this needs to be planned for and can come with additional costs. I understand that this would be frustrating if you were following animals that crossed over and you were unable to follow. The beauty of travelling at this time of year is that you get to experience the true expanse of our concession however we would love to welcome you back to Sabora during migration season so that you get to experience this beautiful part of the world in a different way. Kind Regards Bronwyn Laing and the Sabora Team

Located in Tanzania in the Serengeti it is a beautiful Singita lodge. The tent is luxurious and well equipped with all the amenities. Special thanks to Bernard/Guide and Gerson/Waiter. The game viewing was wonderful with 2 game drives a day with lovely views and sunsets in the Serengeti. If you are doing two lodges in Tanzania I recommend doing Singita Sabora Tented Camp and Singita Sasakwa.

As a first safari for my girlfriend and I, this was absolute perfection. Thelocation was amazing surrounded by beautiful views and animals only a stones throw away. We were fortunate enough to have Hassan as our helper within the camp for the week, his service and attention to detail was immaculate, he didn't make us feel like a guest, he made us feel like a family member within the camp, Anything we needed or requested he helped us out. Our guide Kim was essentially a walking encyclopedia, his knowledge of every single animal was outstanding and I now know facts about animals that before this I never knew existed. You can see that still after 23 years of being a guide he has the same enthusiasm and enjoyment as he did on his 1st day. The expereince we both had here is going to be hard to top on future vacations and we will 100% be visiting Singita Sebora again, this venue is a credit to Singita and it's easy to see that the management and all of the workers work tirelessly to ensure that guests have the most amazing time.

Surrounded by the Grumeti reserve, we were so close to the animals, and yet felt completely safe - and pampered- during our stay there. Fabulous game drives - our guide Robert provided us with the most intimate animal encounters imaginable. The tents provided glamping at its finest. Trained escorts accompanied us to and from the restaurant and other facilities.

Amazing experience. These tents are much more than tents with all the facilities you could wish for. They are set in the plains of the Serengeti and it feels out in the wild. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming and nothing is to much trouble. It was lovely to be able to sit around the fire and exchange stories with other guests and interact. The restaurant was set up on a deck with open views for as far as the eye can see. Semmy looked after us beautifully and it was great to chat and spend time with Fabio and his wife. A water hole with resident buffalo is not to far away and you do hear animals in the night which was exciting and a genuine insight to the bush life. The spa is also tented but stunning and again open views. We had the best time with Bernard our guide who stayed with us for our full 8days 4 in Sabora and 4 in Sasakwa. The most skilled and knowledgable man with the most genuine heart. We loved every element of this trip. Thank you Sabora.

It is hard to describe in words just how magical Sabora is. From the moment you arrive, surrounded by zebra, wildebeest, warthogs and buffalo, you feel totally immersed in the wilderness. The views from the main camp, the gym, the spa, your own tent, are all spectacular. The décor of the camp and tents is stunning – neutral tones, modern, luxurious, sustainable. We were all blown away by the quality of the food – comparable to the best restaurants in Europe yet catered for in the middle of the bush - incredible! Most of the food is made on site – from the yoghurt to the bread to the ice cream and sorbet. I have never been so full, so consistently, in my life but it was impossible to be restrained when the quality of food was as high as it was. The wines are incredible too, not only for their quality but also the variety, changing every evening and offering a variety of light to medium to full bodied options to suit every taste. However, the thing that makes this camp stand out above anywhere else is the PEOPLE. We have been fortunate enough to stay at a number of luxury safari camps and hotels around the world and nowhere compares to the level of service and hospitality we experienced at Sabora. Every member of staff, from the manager (Edward) to our personal waiter (Richard) down to the housekeeping staff who made up our room immaculately every day, all went above and beyond to look after us, greeting us daily with warm smiles and making us feel at home. I have never stayed at a property where the level of service is so consistently high across all staff every day. Special mentions go to: Edward (manager) – congratulations for running such a spectacular camp with incredible staff. And thank you for the thoughtful gestures during our stay. Richard (our waiter) – thank you for your hospitality, for going above and beyond every day of our stay, for taking account of everyone’s quirks/likes/dislikes, for making sure our glasses were never empty and that our tummies were always full. It was a pleasure to get to know you and impressive to see how well you are training Matthew – he is a credit to you. Matthew (trainee waiter) – you did a fantastic job throughout our stay and it was great to see your confidence grow. Thank you! And last but certainly not least, Charles (our guide) – what a privilege it was to spend time with someone as passionate about wildlife and conservation as you are. Charles is hands down the best guide we have ever had on safari. His knowledge about the animals and particularly the birdlife is astonishing. Every encounter we had with the animals was relaxed – always considerate and giving the animals space whilst also allowing us to soak up the experience of seeing these majestic animals interacting in the wild. Every day was a surprise and one thing that is amazing about Sabora is the lack of other vehicles – at almost every sighting we were the only vehicle there, with a maximum of 3 Singita vehicles at any one time. It added to the feeling of exclusivity that was abundant throughout our stay. Thank you, Charles for going above and beyond in every way, for your patience and your good humour. You made this a trip of a lifetime which we will never forget! We cannot wait to return to Sabora and cannot recommend it highly enough. Perfection in every way.

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at Sabora, and wish we would have stayed longer. I never write reviews, but this place made a huge impression on me. It was a perfect experience in a perfect setting. Edward, Babs, and Fabio are the managers and they are the kindest and so warm and welcoming. They have an excellent thing going at Sabora. Everyone in this camp anticipates every single need of their guests. Our personal butler was Samora and he was outstanding and made the best early morning lattes and arranged a beautiful sundowners for us. He really made a lasting impression on us. Our guide was Medard and he made our Sabora experience magical. We saw so many animals in our short stay. He treated us like family, and we can’t wait to return. I could go on and on, but all I can say is go, go to this camp and experience excellence in the bush because you won’t be dissatisfied. Make sure you get a massage by Tunu because she does a wonderful job. The Chef Sean Paul is perfection. The food was delicious.

It was my fifth visit to Singita Grumeti, I admit that when I've learned that they had remodeled the charmingly beautiful Sabora Tented Camp I was somewhat worried, after all it was pure charm and beauty. But, what a nice surprise it was to see how beautifully the redecoration was! Not to mention the impeccable service and stunning location.
