It is hard to describe in words just how magical Sabora is. From the moment you arrive, surrounded by zebra, wildebeest, warthogs and buffalo, you feel totally immersed in the wilderness. The views from the main camp, the gym, the spa, your own tent, are all spectacular. The décor of the camp and tents is stunning – neutral tones, modern, luxurious, sustainable. We were all blown away by the quality of the food – comparable to the best restaurants in Europe yet catered for in the middle of the bush - incredible! Most of the food is made on site – from the yoghurt to the bread to the ice cream and sorbet. I have never been so full, so consistently, in my life but it was impossible to be restrained when the quality of food was as high as it was. The wines are incredible too, not only for their quality but also the variety, changing every evening and offering a variety of light to medium to full bodied options to suit every taste. However, the thing that makes this camp stand out above anywhere else is the PEOPLE. We have been fortunate enough to stay at a number of luxury safari camps and hotels around the world and nowhere compares to the level of service and hospitality we experienced at Sabora. Every member of staff, from the manager (Edward) to our personal waiter (Richard) down to the housekeeping staff who made up our room immaculately every day, all went above and beyond to look after us, greeting us daily with warm smiles and making us feel at home. I have never stayed at a property where the level of service is so consistently high across all staff every day. Special mentions go to: Edward (manager) – congratulations for running such a spectacular camp with incredible staff. And thank you for the thoughtful gestures during our stay. Richard (our waiter) – thank you for your hospitality, for going above and beyond every day of our stay, for taking account of everyone’s quirks/likes/dislikes, for making sure our glasses were never empty and that our tummies were always full. It was a pleasure to get to know you and impressive to see how well you are training Matthew – he is a credit to you. Matthew (trainee waiter) – you did a fantastic job throughout our stay and it was great to see your confidence grow. Thank you! And last but certainly not least, Charles (our guide) – what a privilege it was to spend time with someone as passionate about wildlife and conservation as you are. Charles is hands down the best guide we have ever had on safari. His knowledge about the animals and particularly the birdlife is astonishing. Every encounter we had with the animals was relaxed – always considerate and giving the animals space whilst also allowing us to soak up the experience of seeing these majestic animals interacting in the wild. Every day was a surprise and one thing that is amazing about Sabora is the lack of other vehicles – at almost every sighting we were the only vehicle there, with a maximum of 3 Singita vehicles at any one time. It added to the feeling of exclusivity that was abundant throughout our stay. Thank you, Charles for going above and beyond in every way, for your patience and your good humour. You made this a trip of a lifetime which we will never forget! We cannot wait to return to Sabora and cannot recommend it highly enough. Perfection in every way.…
