Well my stay at this hotel went from bad to nightmare to wanting to check out. I have never experienced a friendly staff in all my life but the challenges ahead of this hotel are immense. I would prefer not to go into to much detail about the hygiene issues I had with the bedding sheets but my complaint had... More

This hotel is mostly dreadful but aspires to improve. Hence I gave it two stars instead of only one. Management is ambitious and seems capable. I don't particularly want to kick a man when he is down but years of economic privation, inflation in the millions of percent per year and a currency worth nothing have left it dated, badly... More

Quite possibly the worst hotel experience I've had for many years. Yes, I know it's Africa and I know it's Zimbabwe, but there are basics that any hotel anywhere around the world should address and get right. Where do I begin? The food is awful. The breakfast buffet is very ordinary and the service and experience in the morning is... More

Spent a week here at the end of November. Rooms and facilities were perfectly adequate, but everything was a bit dated and very tired looking. While this is not surprising given the economic turmoil in Zimbabwe over the past decade, I hope the management will take the recent stability as incentive to invest in the property. Key items that need... More

Stayed here on business for five nights, and it was exactly what I needed. I was a bit apprehensive about going to Harare, having heard stories of power failures and shortages, but this was certainly not a problem. It is an old building and hotel, but everything seemed to work fine - plumbing, electricity, elevators, aircon, kitchens, and so on.... More

For eight days there was no air con at the hotel....in October! On the last day the system kicked in and blew hot air into my room for six hours...then cool air for the final four hours I stayed at the hotel. Nine days, only four hours of proper a/c. Not good. Given the circumstances of Zimbabwe, I guess the... More

My trip took me to Harare on business, my first choice Holiday Inn was full so I was refered to Monomotapa. Staff on arrival very helpful and friendly. While checking in their was another guest complaining about the air con in the rooms and that they had been like this for five years already. Well it turned out to be... More

The Crown Plaza offers exactly what you'd expect from this prestigeous group even in Harare where the going is fairly tough and prices generally quite high, the Crown Plaza offers great service and a comfortable stay at very reasonable rates.

The rooms are ok, but the service is just not up to western (crown plaza) levels. The hotel is right in the centre of Harare, but the staff advised us NOT to visit the park next to the hotel.

The greatest advantage of this hotel is its location. It is situated in the heart of the city and can be accessible easily. The spacious and very high ceiling of the lobby gives guests lots of space to breathe. The ever smiling reception welcomes you with warmth and a chilled glass of traditional African drink. The property is old but... More
