I stayed here for a business visit for a month, Being Indian, I like asian food, which was rare in this country. Although about the facilities, hospitability, it was way better in compare to the condition of country's economic. Staff was very friendly. Rooms are always clean. The best thing about the hotel was the pool on the 14th floor.... More

Having stayed here numerous times i thought it would be beneficial to write a review. The service is amazing and it is definately the nicest hotel in Harare. Its central(although wouldnt recommend walking around at night) and still has class. A real colonial hotel. Lovely stay thank you!

Grand old style is perhaps what best describes Meikles. Perfectly located in city center, its probably still the best hotel in town and correct, but could use some investments and some service training. Staff is most pleasant and attentive but slow and not really up to modern standards. Lunch, dinner and check in/out take forever. The dining hall is positively... More

The Meikles Hotel in Harare, Zimbabwe was a pleasant surprise. The hotel dates back to British colonial times, but provides modern convenineces like wi-fi to enhance your stay. The modern section of the property is undergoing a renovation made possible in part by the country's conversion to the US Dollar as the currency of the state. With a more stable... More

Stayed here many times. Due to economic situation have them benefit of doubt with respect to poor room conditions etc. however with increased occupancy over the past 2 years evident by the number of people now roaming the hotel, it's sad they haven't upgraded rooms. This trip, the shower head fell on me twice!!! The air conditioning was non existent.... More

I was somewhat disapointed after checking into what is labled as the most expensive hotel in Harare, and especially as we were booked into their Club Rooms. The hotel is fine and was obviously a very grand hotel back in the days it was first built, but unfortunately not much has changed since then! The decor is the same, my... More

As mentioned in other reviews, this hotel exudes old British world charm and style. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff is very helpful and friendly at this hotel. The breakfast buffet is top notch and is located in a very pleasant location of the hotel. The hotel offers several eating options throughout which is very nice and... More

As compared to international standards, the hotel is showing its age. It does have an old world British charm but the rooms do need to be renovated. One of the wings is under renovation, so this should improve shortly. The food at the hotel was good, service was great nothing to complain about. The lobby is very nice and the... More

I stayed at the hotel for almost 4-5 months while I was at Harare for work. I had never imagined such a warm reception and such helpful people. The high tea snacks are absolutely recommended. You can also not miss the lovely buffet breakfast spread. At the hotel's restaurant, you should hear the lovely jazz music on Friday's and mind... More
