We didn't stay here, but popped in for a "colonial" experience, a few drinks and to savour the view. Just beautiful. Coffee or devonshire tea, or drinks on the terrace overlooking the falls, the bridge with some rainbows thrown in for good measure. Good spot to view the brave doing their bungee jump!!! Lovely break from shopping!!!

This is possibly my favourite hotel I've been to. Incredibly colonial it gives an idea of what things would have been like at the height of the British Empire rule. Everywhere you look through the hotel there are old posters and the decor works perfectly. At the bottom of the gardens is a great view of the Zambezi River and... More

This Grand Old Lady of a hotel must have been just that but I am afraid no more. The place has a slight sense of decay which is not helped by the bare wires lying where the fridges were removed from the places in the room and the lack of a reading light in a so called 5 star establishment... More

This hotel is more than 100 years old, and steeped in colonial history, including its imposing and charming architecture. When the hotel initially opened in 1904, it proudly claimed that its guests could enjoy European luxury in the heart of Africa. A claim that is valid also today. The hotel looks out on the Victoria Falls Bridge that spans a... More

This hotel offers an amazing experience. With a view and short walk to the spectacular Victoria Falls and the town the location is perfect. Being able to stay in a place with so much history ,excellent service and so many options for great food is a treat. The staff are very helpful and the cocktails a great way to wind... More

We just got back from our stay at this hotel and it was awesome! We were there on our honeymoon and we got a room overlooking the bridge and we could see the mist from the falls. It was nicely decorated and we even had a flat screen TV. Some of the furniture was a little dated, but overall it... More

We stayed here at the end of a 9 night safari camp journey. My wife and I love old hotels and appreciate the history, but we were very disappointed in the cleanness of our room. It looked really dirty and the bathroom was in major need of repair. The public spaces are great, the hotel location is beautiful and the... More

Stayed one night in Mid March. Regret it wasn't longer. This place exudes the atmosphere of a bygone era, and a colonial past. Very meaningful and thought provoking-particularly if you are British!. The spacious public rooms and corridors are purely magnificent.Comfortable lounge chairs and sofas are abundant, and the walls are lined with pictures, cartoons, anecdotal reminders of a colonial... We had been told we needed to see both sides of the falls and so booked this beautiful hotel. The view as you proceed from reception to the balcony is spectacular. Our room was in the original part of the hotel and was quaint. We had 2 large single 4 poster beds with mosquito nets. They have a luggage rack... More

After hearing so many people say "you must go to the Zambian side" , was a little apprehensive when I took my family to the old lady. IT WAS AWSOME !! Exceeded all my expectations ! Firstly , access to the falls is the best . Next , Zimbabwe was an eye opener- people so nice and desperate to please,... More
