I was really positively surprised by this hotel compared to the some review that I read. Actually the location is OK and the hotel is clean. I had asked some services from the hotel stuff and they were very reactive. The price is quite high but very reasonable for Luanda. It was not a bad choice at all.

From previous reviews I was expecting the worst and was very pleasantly surprised with my stay in the President hotel. The location was perfect for business meetings and my morning run along the beautiful waterfront. The rooms were very comfortable.with effective AC. The buffet at breakfast and dinner was good and service very acceptable although that could not be said for... More

Two things male the President get to just average, location which is perfect if you have business downtown or in Sonils and the buffet, including the service by the restaurant manager. The hotel is quite old and the rooms more than show it but the service also makes it up to a point. It is being renovated, but work seemed... More

Ignoring all the rules about safe eating in this part of the world, we all enjoyed the early evening buffet before heading for our late evening flights. For myself this turned into the most traumatic 10 hours of travelling I have even experienced, food poisoning, wow.....unbelievable and everyone of our 8 strong group suffered the same agonies. Apart from the... More

What's good: - Location is perfect for business as it is just 2 minutes to the port road, also 5 minutes drive to main office buildings. - Restaurant at 6th floor has relatively good staff and they service tons of langoustines for dinner. What's Bad: - Location is bad at the same time: as you drive in you may think... More

At the first sight when seeing 28 floors buttons on the elevators you will think opesssssss it is worth $400/night.....It is old hotel, toilet taps is not working properly, lot of misquotes inside the room, remote control was not working, I requested changing it but they ignore my request, cleaning of the room was poor. Difficult to deal with the... More

Never thought I would find myself on my trip. This hotel is horrible. On check-in in the reception the staff had no idea what they were doing,I was the only person and it took 15 minutes to check me in. At one point there was no one at the front desk and people were starting to complain. No pressing iron... More

A very expensive hotel - as all things in Luanda are. Staff were friendly and even spoke english. Were not good at "extras" like arranging drivers/taxis. Rooms were basic but very acceptable. Food was mediocre - found the little coffee shop/resturant (out the front door to the right - about 150 m up the road) far better value for money.

But then what do you expect for only $300 a night!! Actually, this was not such a bad place based on expectations. You won't get value for money anywhere in Luanda, and because there are no tourists, the staff don't particularly bother pretending to like the customers. I stayed in the presidente for 10 days, and apart from having initial... More

As you are searching for hotels in Luanda, soon you discover their prices are a real nightmare for anyone. Despite this, the President Hotel was the cheapest (but not cheap) I found in an area next to the city centre. Location is very important in Luanda, 'cause there's a horrible traffic always and even taxis are rare. The Hotel is... More
