You're not really spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation in Gaborone. The Gaborone Sun Hotel offers a decent stay. Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast - fine for business travel overall. The only issue I have with the hotel is the absence of a lift or escalator. Therefore, you are forced to use stairs only, which can be difficult... More

Most of the Southern Sun hotels in Africa have seen better days. In general the Southern Suns are quite old; even when well maintained it shows (shower bath is a classic giveaway). Having said that, the Southern Suns normally present value for money, decent service and one can look past the colonial feel. However, the Gabarone Sun is possibly one... More

We stayed here as missed connection to Maun due to late flight from Heathrow. Staff were friendly and good meal in steak restaurant with nice local wine. Wines by the glass very limited choice. Rooms ok, clean and functional. Transit from airport easy in their shuttle bus.

I was staying at the Gaborone Sun for one week in May. It is a nice hotel with a good location and nice breakfast. The staff was quite helpful and very nice. The internet connection is not free so I had to buy megabytes for the front desk. The Internet is quite slow too. It got a little noisy Friday... More

I stayed at the Gaborone Sun this month for one night. I was the worst experience I had in Africa. The staff were neglectful, careless and unfriendly. I had a room located at a noisy corner, I tried to inform the staff at the reception but they had more important guests than me. I could see they pick and choose... More

Stayed here in late April '13 and quite a nice place. The rooms were quite okay, nothing great and not bad either. Food spread was a big miss. The buffet breakfast was good but otherwise did not eat the other meals.

Charming and warm hotel with very eager and courteous staff. I stayed there for 4 nights when i was attending a business conference in Botswana. Excellent buffet! Convenient location in the CBD and a few minutes from the Riverwalk shopping centre

The hotel is very pleasant, the rooms are large, clean, well equipped and quiet, with a nice environment on a park. The personal is very courteous ans serviable. There is a very pleasant bar at the pool. Breakfast buffet is very good. Price is OK for the quality. However, 2 points could be better: the quality of the food for... More

Really nice hotel, very convenient, easy parking. The only problem is the arrogance of certain management. In my opinion their arrogance is because there's always a shortage of rooms in Gaborone, even though new hotels have opened recently. They therefore take the attitude that if you don't like it go elsewhere. Rooms in general are ok and comfortable. Staff are excellent, wish I could... More

Stayed here in November/December 2010 for 5 weeks while on business in Gaborone. The Sun is a big hotel with plenty of facilities. Rooms and the hotel in general are kept clean, but the place really could do with a upgrade, especially with good competition from The Grand Palm on the other side of the city. Staff are, on the...
