This hotel is well equipped and maintained, clean and offers a very good standard of service. Although the rooms feel a little dated (and excessively carpeted), the internet and AC works and the food is of a high standard, with an outdoor cafe with very pleasant live music or the Beef Baron steak restaurant to choose from. In short, a... More

Customer service was excellent at all levels from bellhops to reception, housekeeping and the restaurants. I stayed on the 5th floor, and would plan to do so again on my next trip. I had no problems with the wi-fi signal, and the room itself was equipped with everything I needed...including a great view of the pool! One note for business... More

The Palms was built in modular form so don't expect interesting architecture - but the rooms are comfortable and clean. If you want wi-fi access then make sure you are on the 5th floor. They will sell you airtime without explaining the poor or absent signal on other floors. The restaurant is very good. Beef is ubiquitious in Bots and... More

Nice hotel with beautifull location and excellent, friendly service. The hotel does understand the meaning of "guest relations"! Great and very reasonable priced food, at the Beef Baron restaurant, certainly for those who like a good steak or a local fish. The breakfast is a bit overpriced for those, like me, who would only have a toast and a coffee... More

Clean and pleasant hotel with attentive, helpful staff. The bathrooms could use some updating. With a near-monopoly on the market in Gaborone, they can - and do - overcharge. I would stay here again for the convenience, the pleasant staff ... and the great vegetarian curry.

Beautiful hotel! We booked a junior suite on the executive floor, which I would recommend. There is free coffee and snacks available, and the buffet is great. The service is good, but the internet is very expensive. The pool is large but cold, and is surrounded by a treed area and a swamp. The room was clean and neat. We... More

Rooms adequate if a bit small, service fine, restaurants good but breakfast a bit chaotic & unfortunately rather like a school canteen - go early to avoid the rush. Price actually fine, but please stop charging separately for wifi, it's annoying!!

Visited the Walmont for a wedding. Becareful with your room type, the newer renovated rooms which seem to only be on the executive floor are much better. Bathrooms however are tiny in both room types. The older rooms have old style tube tv's although there is nothing wrong with them in terms of cleanliness. They just need the updating. Breakfast... Location was excellent, as was the room. Everything was on the pricey side, but that was pretty common everywhere I stayed in Africa. Wifi was extra and pretty pricey as well. Several restaurant in the hotel, and all had excellent food. Breakfast buffet was also excellent. Very funny to see monkeys all over the grounds like squirrels. They didn't bother... More

Gaborone has a serious shortage of good hotels. The Grand Palm is frequently considered the best hotel in town, and has a 4-star rating. Service is reasonable, though slow (that is to be expected in most hotels in Gaborone) and not always efficient. Many of the rooms have been updated, and are comfortable enough, although not exactly attractive. The airconditioning... More
