The hotel inside looks clean and fresh, is modern with friendly staff. The hotel is fairly safe and there are plenty of security persons around within the grounds. The hotel as a score card 'Hot or Not' and I have filled three so far, seems a good idea if they act on the information (did on one occasion) in the... More

Having previously suffered through the dingy Sheraton, falling-to-pieces Nicon Luxury.... the Protea Hotel Asokoro was a breath of fresh air. By Nigerian standards, this is a 4* hotel. By US standards, probably 3... but very, very, passable. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, simple but nice breakfast buffet. Not too many frills, but definitely comfortable.

The staff are friendly. The menu is really good especially their Pork Spare Ribs and Club Panini Sandwich! A really good place to stay and know what to expect especially for first time travelers. Remember to pack your trainers because this hotel has the best gym in town. Safe travels.

The staff were professional, attentive and service-oriented during my ten day stay at the Protea-Asokoro. The Front Desk staff quickly responded to all my requests, Housekeeping staff slipped a note under my door, after I had hung the Do Not Disturb sign for two days to get work done, asking me to contact them if I needed any service, and... Was looking forward returning to what was familiar and I was certainly not disappointed. The minimum requirement from any stop over in a hotel is clean accommodation and which is certainly the case at the Protea Hotel Asokor. The design of the bathroom being separated from the bedroom is a nice touch and separates this Hotel from your "same old-same... More

With only 28 rooms, you would think that the service would be better. Nice beds, a little hard for my comfort, and plenty of space in the room. The cost is very high, over $300 per night, and the meals in the hotel restaurant are nothing special except the prices...$32 US for the buffet, $19 for a hamburger (mine had... More

So, I didn't take one for the team with Apo apartments, as promised in the last review - Asokoro was more convenient for my appointments. This time I had a normal room - guess what, it's way better than the penthouse from last time, because at least nothing smells in there. Otherwise, a moderately clean room, in an average hotel.... Had the Apo Apartments booked - we show up, something is wrong with our reservation, but we get an "upgrade" to a penthouse at the Asokoro. I'm calling it an "upgrade" because as far as I'm concerned, there is less privacy in a shared apartment, than in separate hotel rooms (clarification: we = me and a co-worker). The price is... More

The Protea Asokoro is all promise and no delivery. Though rooms are clean, I took one of the penthouse 3 bedroom suites until "reservation confusion" moved me to a lesser but adequate suite, little or nothing works at this hotel. The location, close to key government offices and absolutely nothing else, is dismal. There is a fitness center, small bar,... More

Did not like this hotel and fled the next day to the New Chelsea, which was much better. I was told it "used to be good." It looks impressive enough from the outside, with an impressive driveway, but the apartment was dated, had a strange smell and looked 2* at best. The apartment was not worth half of the £280... More
