International standard, great restaurant, excellent service and an excellent location makes for a great place to stay whether on route to see the Gorillas or on business.
Rooms are good size, well appointed but the A/C in mine was a bit knackered (room 105), bed is big but way to soft - ended with a back ache after 2 nights....

Stayed here last night of a 12 day trip thru Uganda and Rwanda. The hotel is fabulous, clean, modern and comfy. Beds are very comfy with mattress toppers. International tv for those who need it. Bathrooms are very modern and tastefully designed with English bath products. Excellent shower. WIFI throughout the hotel and it's fast.Hotel staff are very accommodating and...

Compared to international standards, the Kigali Serena may or may not classify as a full 5 star. The property is a bit worn out, the lobby especially needs re-decoration, their carpeting and upholstery looks like it hails from the 80s. However, what it lacks in decor, the Serena makes up for with excellent service and attention to detail. The bed...

Nice and comfortable rooms, good restaurant, beautiful swimming pool
I had a fairly good experience at this hotel. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Wifi was reliable as well. After reading reviews on this site, I requested a room with a pool view, which was great. FYI, there is live music near the pool a few nights a week, which is quite loud in those rooms. I...

This hotel is truly 5 stars and is one of the nicest in Africa. I have been all over Africa and one would have to search far and wide to surpass this hotel. Located on a hill overlooking the city and near small shops and what little shopping Kigali has to offer. The rooms, public areas, pool, gym and the...

Absolutely THE best hotel experience. I have not bad thing to say about this hotel. I've stayed at many luxury hotels- Ritz, Four Seasons, W etc and Kigali Serena was by far superior to my stays at the others. You will experience complete western amenities, including food. If you are looking for a local, authentic feel this is not the...

Staff at the Kigali Serena are gracious and helpful. Rooms are lovely and spacious, are spotlessly clean and there is a turn down service. There is free Wi-Fi with adequate connection speeds throughout the hotel. Conference facilities are good as is security. The Milima restaurant serves an adequate buffet and the Executive Bar great wine. I had what is arguably...

Before I was living in Rwanda, this is the hotel I used to stay at. It started off as an Intercontinental and in those days had a fantastic South African chef. These days, the food is at its best, mediocre (though they do a nice job with breakfast). There's a pool side restaurant (now called Milima -- formerly Banana Jam)...
