I can highly recommend this place if you wish to learn about meditation and yoga, or if you want to extend your existing knowledge of yog. One or two nights, a couple of weeks or even months; any duration is most likely to make a very positive imprint in your soul. I was supposed to stay for two nights but... More

We booked for 2 nights 3 days. On arrival we were told nothing scheduled for day 1 but rest and shower. If you even only done one yoga class this will be a waste of your time, as you will have already learnt more then you will learn here. If you love yoga and meditation this is not the place... More

I booked 4 days/3 nights, and i chose a tent for accommodation. I opted for a tent to get the most 'natural' experience. I liked it so much. I am a total Yoga newbie, no, actually I was a total Yoga newbie, but after my stay at HIYA I am definitely smarter:) What I liked most about how Yoga is... More

After having read a poor review I was a little worried about my booking however I never needed to worry. Beds very comfy and clean, tents great, toilets/showers clean, food was just amazing - healthy, not greasy and plenty of it. Staff were just so helpful and welcoming. very warm and relaxing in the garden. Take ear plugs for the... More

I stayed at HIYA for their 3 night package in Harmony one of the very cute little tents - could have easily stayed longer and i recommend staying the three nights as an minimum. This place is a little oasis overlooking kathmandu, great views of the city and swayambhunath (monkey temple), which is within walking distance. Also, from just up... More

I stayed 1 month in Nepal and stayed here twice. For 2 days at the start and 2 days at the end. With mountain biking, rafting and trekking in between. Loved it both times. Relaxing, great exercise, lovely food, lovely people. Felt great after each stay! Highly Recommended!

My partner and I spent a lovely last week in Nepal at the Yoga Academy. We met other lovely guests and learnt the true meaning of Yoga. The food was amazing and we felt part of the family. Bring your ear plugs as you can hear every dog in the valley of Nepal barking at night. All part of the... More

For eight days i stayed at the HIYA. It was a great experience and a perfect place to calm down after my busy office job. The yoga in the morning was very relaxing (less intense and heavy than in Europe) and well balanced for all levels. The vegetarian meals were very nice as were the fresh herbal teas. Meditation at... I ended up going to Himalayan International Yoga Academy (HIYA) on one of the hills in Kathmandu. Great location. Basic but clean accommodation. AMAZING food. Interesting walking around the area, it's a 45min walk from Kopan Monastery and a 10-15min walk to Three Buddhas/Monkey Temple. Price includes all meals, tea and therapies. I had Reiki and a therapy where hot... More

I stayed at HIYA for 3 nights, as a break from the insanity of 2 months living in Kathmandu, and it was exactly what I needed! I arrived extremely stressed out and sick and left feeling better than I had in weeks. The food was delicious (try the daliya for breakfast! Yum!) and the setting was perfect. It was so... More
