Stayed here for two nights as part of an organised trek.  The hotel is comfortable, although the decor is slightly dated.  We were given a suite on the second single night stay, which was collosal including a separate room with full dining table, sofas and a second TV.  However, it isn't worth the premium compared with other guest houses in... The Malla hotel is located in a large private parc with outside sitting and a swimming pool. The rooms are large and confortable. Nevertheless, the touristy Thamel neighborhood, a shopper's paradise, with many restaurants, is only a five minute walk (along a noisy dusty road).

Very well located to Thamel. Old but clean. Felt very luxurious after a 12 day trek, but in reality very basic, but acceptable. Nothing flash, but was not looking for too much before and after the trek.

This hotel has some good and some not-so-good features. Staff are friendly and helpful, amenities such as the restaurant are convenient (especially the omelet station in the morning), and the grounds are a quiet respite from the din of the city. But the only somewhat decent rooms are on the fourth floor, all others are shabby to say the least.... More

This hotel is quite close to the Thamel area of Kathmandu and therefore quite central. The building and the rooms are a bit old but it is clean. Although I didn't take advantage of the garden outside, this seems very pleasant to have a drink in. The staff was nice. A bit disappointed that the towels for 2 ppl were... More

Have just had a couple of days here. The hotel is very nice, but out of the centre of the town, but there are shops nearby if you want to explore. Come out and turn left. Food good, but as l later discovered, all food in restaurants in Nepal is left uncovered. We were able to change money, but they ran... More

Stayed in this hotel before and after my trekking tour. The rooms are great - clean, spacious and comfortable. (After 18 days in the mountains the hot shower was my favorite part of the room) In theory you don't really have to leave the hotel cause it is all there from internet to restaurants, pool and a little souvenir shop.... Spent 3 nights at the beginning of a tour with Saga, in room 515. This overlooks the garden, it's quiet and was in good, clean condition. Full bathroom with plenty of hot water at all times. Public rooms are smart though once you leave them things get shabbier. Food is very average and drinks are ridiculously expensive compared to elsewhere... More

This is the 2nd time we stay in the Malla hotel in the last three years. The perfect location and the good service are the reasons we chose again this hotel. It is like a quiet oasis in the middle of the noisy Thamel. It is a nice place to be after a 2 weeks trek in the Himalaya but... More

Stayed at the Malla for a week. Spent one night on the ground floor - the rooms there are awful. The fourth floor was much better, but the rooms overlooking the swimming pool are noisy because of the hotel/guest house very close next door. The rooms overlooking the gardens are much better. Breakfast is pretty good, but otherwise meals at... More
