This place is okay if you are looking for somewhere cheap in Bangkok. New Road Guesthouse is a clean hostel with lots of facilities. Friendly staff, huge breakfast and soft beds. They can help you with your travels into Thailand and even beyond that. What I didn't like was the location. It's far from Khao San Road, and the boats only run untill 6pm, so you have to take taxi back.

It's a very decent and an affordable hotel. It has different room types (dormitories etc...) which would suit the budget well for a reasonable stay with friends. Friendly staff as well.

We stayed one night in a tiny room with completely rubbish ventilation. It was small and damp and the bed only had a bottom sheet and a ratty blanket.
