We booked this for 1 night at the end of our trip in Thailand. We spent more money getting to the hostel in a taxi then what we paid for the room itself. It is not in a very good location for the tourist attractions. We booked a private twin and it was ok for the price. The room looked... More

Think it was a good place to stay. Not easy to find for the taxidriver, but when he found it, it was actually quite central I think. You can walk to Lebua State Tower and the SkyTrain, and lot is happening in the area. For me it was the first time in Bangkok, so I do not know the city.... More

This place is okay if you are looking for somewhere cheap in Bangkok. The location isn't great if you want to be in the 'centre of it all' (ie Khao San Road) but it's fine if you're looking for somewhere relatively central and close to bus stops, local amenities etc. The rooms are......... not exactly sparkling and the ceiling fan... New Road Guesthouse is a clean hostel with lots of facilities. Friendly staff, huge breakfast and soft beds. They can help you with your travels into Thailand and even beyond that. What I didn't like was the location. It's far from Khao San Road, and the boats only run untill 6pm, so you have to take taxi back.

It's a very decent and an affordable hotel. It has different room types (dormitories etc...) which would suit the budget well for a reasonable stay with friends. Friendly staff as well.

We stayed in door rooms which were clean, the shared bathroom was better than expected. The rooms were good value. The location wasn't great and a way away from Koh San Road but near the pier for Water Taxi which was 30TBH to Koh San Road. The food was reasonably priced. They did play loud music til late on in... Dear Katy, Thank you very much for your nice review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and found it a good, reasonably priced option. In regards to location we find it an asset not being too close to Khao San Road but as you say, close to e.g. the pier and water taxies instead. Not least due... More

We stayed one night in a tiny room with completely rubbish ventilation. It was small and damp and the bed only had a bottom sheet and a ratty blanket. Not that more sheets would have helped - I came away with legs, back and arms covered in bed bug bites. No wonder the sheets are dark green... So you don't... More

On the outside of this guesthouse, it looks beautiful and clean!.. on the first floor. When I arrived to this guest house I was surprised. It looked really nice and clean. There was even one staff member sitting outside and greeted us. I checked into this guesthouse with high hopes. Most of the reviews I read were very positive.. When... More
