It seems that the area aground the Siam Square - Chit Lom is most in fashion now. All this modern architecture, shopping and new hotels. Montiens once strongest argument was the location beside Patpong which is half empty now. The whole area along Silom Road lost a little of its earlier intensity. Montien Bangkok is a very old property but very nicely maintained. Staffs always ready to serve you with smile. Breakfast served is fantastic. No hot water kettle available in rooms. Very near to the the patong market. Worth a stay if you are looking for a affordable property :) More

I had a standard 'single' room on the 12th floor in the North Wing. Room was fine, not the most modern but not old either.
