A delightful place to stay and the staff are so helpful and friendly. We'd tried to arrange an early check in to our room as we'd had an overnight flight and arrived at the hotel at about 10am. They couldn't provide an early check in to our room but instead gave us a different room to use for a few... More

A lovely, clean bed & breakfast, brilliantly located for visits to temples and Palace. The staff were very friendly, warm, helpful and welcoming. They were easily approachable and were very helpful in recommending eateries, activities and travel arrangements. They also help you and warn you of the pitfalls and scams that tourists commonly run into. The rooms were clean, spacious... More

We were delighted with our stay and would return if ever in Bangkok again. We loved being in a traditional old Thai home and were impressed with the service and warm welcome. It is also very central without feeling crowded or noisy. More

We stayed two nights at the lovely Baan Chantra and wished it was longer. We booked on my parents' recommendations - they had stayed here three years ago and needed to extend their stay in Thailand (and at Baan Chantra) after the airport closed due to extensive demonstrations. The 'over-and-above' kindness and help from the wonderful staff (Kulthida and her... More

We stayed three nights in Baan Chantra after reading good reviews. Being an ex-backpacker, we love to stay near koh san rd. There are some pros and cons to baan chantra. First the pro: - the peple are really, really, really nice. Helpfull and very service minded. - the place is lovely, polished wooden floors and its an old family... More

Dear Lotusbloem Thank you very much for your stay with us in Baan Chantra and thank you for your kind comments. Feedbacks from our clients are very important. We can use that to improve ourselves. However, I am sad that we were not informed regarding the noise in your room. Otherwise, we could have offered you some other alternatives or... More

What to say? all the other reviews have confirmed our opinions. A great little hotel which has all the advantages of a 4 star hotel such as: Quiet AC, sat TV, disposable slippers, in room fridge with reasonable prices, free internet with modern Mac computers etc. etc. What makes it better than a big anonymous 4 star hotel is the... This is not a hotel - and if you want typical hotel facilities then please go elsewhere. Baan Chantra is an old family home, lovingly and carefully converted to a charming guest house. You will be asked to take off your shoes as you go through from the entrance hall, as you would in any Thai home - and so... More

The owner runs this guesthouse in the home that her grandparents lived in. The sense of welcome and comfort are obvious from the moment you enter and continues throughout your stay. Pan is enthusiastically present to answer questions and to share her extensive knowledge of the area. Any questions are honestly and usefully handled.  Rooms are comfortable guesthouse style. Our... Stayed here for six nights so was able to get the complete experience, and what an experience it was! Baan Chantra is loaded with charm, amazing how the team was able to pack so much interesting interior design here. All of the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, it was a treat to come home and see their smiles everyday!... More

We really liked everything. The staff is so friendly that we felt like visiting a family. They were helfpful with everything. The hotel is an original Thai style small guesthouse located closely to Khao San Road yet saving you the noise of that street. Absolutely fantastic breakfasts. I cannot find the words to tell how good it is. More
