Some of the funkiest decor since Prague in the 90's. But it's rundown, threadbare and the pool is full of potted plants. My problem with the place is that upon rising and going to the desk for my breakfast voucher Mr Satasit at the desk did not say good morning or how are you instead he started in right away... More

The pool is the main attraction, very nice but locked up at 6pm. On a roof next to the BTS skytrain going by. Closest station to Thong Lor if you have reason to want to be in this area. Sukhumvit is not near tourist attractions but it is an ok area to stay. A great Dental clinic is next to... More

The price you see behind the reception is not the price a Thai Citizen will pay. Currently one room is 1180 baht a night. However if you're Thai, expect to pay only 740 baht! This is blatent overcharging and should not be endorsed full stop. If you add this to the other reviews, clearly find somewhere better and less bigoted... More

Had stayed here on a short stay. Staff were very accomodating. Though I was not eligible for breakfast as I checked in at around 8AM, on request, they served breakfast for me and my friend. Food quality is good. Rooms are moderately spacious. On the flip side, there is limited parking facility. (in case you decide to hire a self... More

This hotel is in a convenient location for shopping etc. This is not an expensive hotel, but it has a swimming pool. They provide simple breakfast. The serving staff was not so friendly when I stayed there. What to expect with this price...? If you need a budget stay in a convenient location, you can go for it. More

I would NEVER recommend this hotel. We stayed at the Rex for 3nights because was one of the few available hotel in Bangkok due to the Chinese new year. Our bedroom smell bad and was infested with bedbugs. Under the bed it was a condom and a cockroach. The staff were nice but they were desperate to sell tours to... More

As title of review suggests, hotel room furnishings are decent. Hotel isn't the best around but definitely has comfortable linens and bed to be sleeping in. Much to our dismay, expect yourself to have bites all over your bodies because the bed is infested with bedbugs - pests that the hotel staff seem to know about, but clearly choose to... More

Have stayed at the Rex hotel many times and they always remember me. The welcome and service is very genuine. Yes it's dated and yes a little tired so if you want nice curtains and carpets etc stay at the Marriot (or 1 of the refurbished rooms on the groud floor which are as good as anywhere. If you can... My home in Thailand, and for good reason. (NB: 761/2 Sukhumvit Road. Don't confuse it with the other four Rexes in Bangkok!) A hotel is only as good as its staff. Pan, at the front desk and with the oft-multicoloured fingernails, is as good as receptionists get. And Suwit Chantaramanee, the "doorman"/guide/sometime chauffeur/concierge and dependable Man Friday, is top rate.... More
