I only stayed for two nights. Based on thegood reviews, my expectations were better. But I was sorely disappointed. I was taken by one of the staffto my room on the third floor. When the door was opened, I was greeted by a big fat cockroach which quickly ran off and was chased by the young woman. She finally cornered... More

...I stayed at this charming place from October until December 2011, and I have yet to experience a place that displays such warmth and friendliness, whether be it a 5 star chi chi hotel or a more downtempo type of establishment. The staff were always more than helpful no matter what the question was or service requested. The room I... More

We stayed here for five nights earlier this month, and it was most definitely "our home" (which I believe the name Ban Kong Rao means). Very relaxing environment, friendly, helpful staff, just an all around good experience. It was very easy to get comfortable and feel at home. I loved the courtyard for sitting and reading. I miss Chiang Mai... More

I recently stayed at the Ban Kong Rao. Inquiring about a booking less than 48 hours in advance, I was greeted with a prompt reply and even offered a discount! The staff are more than accommodating and assist patrons with any and all requests. After confirming my booking, I was emailed directions to the guest house in Thai, which proved... More

We stayed at Ban Kong Rao for a week and loved our time there. The guesthouse has room service, terrific coffee, comfortable beds, free wifi and very friendly staff. The upstairs patio area is a great area to sit and view the city and sky lanterns in the distance. The Ban Kong Rao is an easy 15 minute walk outside... More

I stayed at Ban Kong Rao with my sister-in-law from Sept 15- Oct 3 while visitng my daughter who is teaching in Chiang Mai. Picked the location because it was close to her apartment. The room was nice, simple, clean, had a refrigerator and a little walled patio (we were on the ground floor) They provided a new bottle of... More

Most of the attractions of Chiang Mai (temples, sights, bars and restaurants) are inside the walls and moat of the Old Town. Baan Kong Rao is a 15 minute hike from where the action is. Having said that this guest house offers higher quality accommodation than you normally find inside the walls near all the hubbub of tourist activity, at... More

We were a little worried when we booked Ban Kong Rao for our stay in Chiang Mai during a 3 week tour around Thailand, it was our first time to the country and so we couldn't see how anywhere charging roughly £15 a night could possibly be anything other than a basic crash pad. We were so pleasantly surprised and... More

My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 months from July-Sep while I was studying at ITM School of Massage. This is firstly a great location if you are attending ITM, our room was spacious with a huge bed and plenty storage. Not a huge bathroom, but open plan walk in shower was great! Out door balcony had a palm tree... More
