We stayed here as part of a G adventures tour for 1 night before crossing the border to Laos. The room was boiling hot when we checked in and we couldn't get the air con to work. On investigation it turned out the batteries in the remote control were finished. We replaced them with some spares we had but why... More

There seems to be some confusion with this page - the guesthouse pictured is not the Nam Khong Guest House in Chiang Mai. That branch was quite nice; the staff were quite friendly (especially the head lady, 'Annabelle'). The rooms are fairly clean, the noise isn't bad, and there is a nice lobby for reading/relaxing/meeting other travelers. As with most... More

This quite possibly be the worst service iv ever seen in Thailand and that's after many years traveling in this part of the world. Movie night- no - staff watching Thai soapy, dinner discussing, 50thr to use pool, 20thr to use a towel + 100thr deposit, they advertise as river side - no - other side of town. Just don't... More

We stayed here as part of the Laos slow-boat package. What a joke! Everything, including towels, the swimming pool, cushions were all chargeable! What really took the biscuit was in the public restaurant and bar area, where you're allowed to watch films on the TV, was when two of the staff came in and turned the film off that everyone... More

Nam Kong is a great place to stay. It's not luxurious but it's the best value in Thailand. For the cost of 200 baht we received two double beds, a fan and a private washroom. The location is close to everything although sometimes it can be loud with the neighboring hotel having parties. The best thing about the guesthouse is... More

First, I would like to clarify that I am writing a review about Nam Khong Gueshouse in Chiang Mai on Tapae Soi 3. It seems some of the reviews may be for a different guesthouse elsewhere. My room had bedbugs. Do not stay here!!! Upon discovering the bedbugs in the morning, I immediately went down to the reception with three... More

I've stayed one night in this hotel on our transit to Laos and it was maybe one of the most beautiful and best value hotels on our whole 2 month southeastasia trip. It's just an oasis of peace and calm in a very shady, ugly, dirty town. It has a beautiful pool and very clean facilities. All the cabins are... More

Our stay here was booked as part of a "slow boat" package (a mistake in itself), from the Green Tulip House in Chiang Mai (final destination: Luang Prabang). We thought this guest house sucked for the following reasons: - Towels are not included in the cost of the room (20 Baht extra, plus a 100 Baht deposit) - We were... More

I stayed there with a group from my Rotary Club (we were on a small non-profit budget) for three nights. I got room 207, which is upstairs on the left hand side of the main entry and straight opposite the reception and the small breakfast room / restaurant. The Nam Khong Guest House is a bit laid back from the... More
