Having a front office manager who is proud of her inability to speak the local language and not enamored of being in Halong Bay is not a good start to a travel experience . The Viethouse Lodge is nice. It is comfortable, spacious and it has an amazing pool that lights up at night. The front rooms overlook the pool, so if you have kids you can watch them from your room.
