Great location in the heart of the old quarter. Lots of street side restaurants nearby, cell phone shop across the road that sells top up cards, and a cute street cafe across the road with amazing Vietnamese coffee and strawberry iced tea! Must try! The staff were incredibly friendly, allowing us to check in at 9am, store our bags there... More

Stayed there twice, at both addresses and in three different rooms... I can say without a doubt that this was my most favourite place to stay in Vietnam! Thank you Candy, Mike, and all your wonderful staff for making our stay(s) most enjoyable.

This was great place to stay and organize trips. As soon as we got there the receptionist Candy sat us down to business, helping us sort our Halong bay and Sapa tours. She was so helpful giving her honest opinion about which tours to do etc. The tours turned out to be brilliant, especially the Sapa tour i highly recommend!... More

Thanks Candy for the great time we had in your hostel. And even more for the help offered in crisis:) We enjoyed our stay in this simple but comfortable hostel. We preferred hostel 2 (private room) as (in our case) it was more quiet; street noise in Hanoi is not what we are used to. Beds are good and very... More

I can see how this hostel is number 1. I stayed in the second Hanoi Hostel and it was perfect. The location was extremely central to which I could easily walk to the lake, night market and I even walked to the Ho Chi Minh's museum and other sights nearby. I paid $5 per night and ended up staying 3... More

Stayed here for 2nights while we were exploring Northern Vietnam. We booked our Sapa and Halong Bay tours from this hostel as well. Candy, the owner, was helpful and gave us a pretty good deal for a 3N2D package to Sapa and a very good cruise to Halong Bay. We loved it! Hanoi Hostel was like our stopover in between these... More

i was here in july 2011. We were stayed at the "family room". actually, the room capacity is 4 person (2 twin bed) with private bathroom, but we were stayed there the 5 of us. All we need to do is add a little more Dong for additional b-fast! That's really nice! The gave us extra blanket and pillow! How... More

This is what you get for 5USD: a nice bed in a clean room, a clean shared bathroom, 3 computers with free internet, breakfast (eggs, bread, fruit, tea/coffee), convenient location, and tour service. In addition, the staff is very kind and helpful. The only downside is that the room can be a bit noisy, because of the central location. If... More

Right from the first contact, Candy was a pleasure to deal with in every way. Not only did she book our rooms and tours, but she answered myriad questions, and stayed pleasant and professional as we made changes to our itinerary. The room was more than adequate for the very low price, and the staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful.... More
