Stayed here for 7 nights, everything was plain sailing until check out. They over charged for the beer from the fridge in the room, that I can take. The rest I cannot. When the receptionist was calculating the bill the exchange rate was 22000 instead of 21000, we got into a heated row. I had to bring him over to... More

I was staying in hanoi working for 2 weeks. After staying in one hotel that was damp and felt dirty, we looked around at lots of hotels ranging from $11-25 and this was by far the beat value. It seemed pretty hard to find a room for less than $15. Camellia v was clean, the staff were very friendly and... More

We stayed at camellia 5 for 2 weeks and paid 11 dollars a night for a twin room which was a decent size with private bathroom and fridge and tv. We looked at about 6 other hotels in this price range and camellia was definitely the least damp and had the biggest rooms. Major downside was the smell of cigarette... More

I was working in Hanoi for a couple of months in the spring and the company I woke for booked the neighboring hotel. But when I arrived in the evening I was told that I would stay in camellia 5 instead. At that time i couldn't be bothered, and I got a room with a TV and working aircon. During... More

my wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during our time in Hanoi and we can honestly say that we had no problems. the room was great with a double bed, satelite TV, fridge, A/C and a good clean bathroom. it is in a great location in old quarter, walking distance from resturants, the night market and... Clean rooms. The lady on staff is super helpful. Not the cheapest in the area but we got for $12 per night for a double room with aircon, TV, fridge and a warm shower so really can't complain at that. They'll want to push you to make tours with them but just be friendly and say you want to look... More

Don't ever go there! They confirmed my reservation by email, i told them i would fly in late and they confirmed again. When i arrived, no room was kept for me, the guys were laughing and didn't care. Finally after becoming really angry, they took a scooter and brought me to another camellia hotel. This was very dirty place, so... More

I wasn't going to write this but thinking back, I think I should do this. I stayed at this hotel for a few weeks. It was cheapish, breakfast a simple baguette and cheese, plus a banana. The staff were quite pushy in the beginning, wanting to know about my travel plans and if I'd like to take a tour. This... More

Found a curly black hair in the sheets the first night. After we got clean sheets, the stay was good. Plain rooms, great location. Top floor room with the balcony out front was best, room on the 2nd floor had 1 window into the stairwell, but no real complaints. Seems to be the standard $16/night hotel in Vietnam.

We stayed here the first two nights in Hanoi, before leaving for Ha long Bay. After arriving at midnight, stuffed, the bloke on the front desk tried to push us into a ha long bay tour that was leaving at 7 the next morning (and only showed us the most expensive options available, not telling us that there were other...
