Situated across the park from the Pham Ngu Lao District 1, you are in the perfect location to enjoy the hustle & bustle of the tourist area, and then retreat to the peacful room. It is a short walk to the major tourist hub of Bến Thành Market. A lot of the main sites are within walking distance, but for some of the more distant pagodas, you will be required to take a regular taxi, or a xi-om (motorbike taxi). The rooms are clean & beautifully appointed, with air conditioned, large flat screen TV, mini bar, tea/coffee, and wifi Internet. Laundry service is free, & we can provide in room dining service, if requested.

We were transferred to Huong Trinh Hotel after our original hotel Le Petit Saigon Hotel was overbooked. Had to walk about 200 meters and we were assisted by the owner Mr. Tung in carrying our bags. The room was spacious but the aircon in Room 1 was not cold enough. I had difficulty breathing and asked to be moved to another room the next day. We were transferred to Room 2 with a super cold aircon this time. So I was satisfied. Wifi is strong. In-room refrigerator kept our beer cans cold. TV comes with international channels. Tuned in to Channel V most times to keep us in the mood. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Shower could be warmer. Location is fantastic. Walking distance to Bui Vien Walking Street. I would recommend anyone to stay at Huong Trinh Hotel for a budget-friendly accommodation in Ho Chi Minh.

I stayed in this hotel for one night with little expectations given how much I paid for it, but even then I was disappointed. The room was cruddy but not too terrible, fairly clean. The wifi was good, but that's about it. My biggest issue came in the morning, I awoke at 6 ready for breakfast which was included in the price. The menu in my room said "dial 0 to call reception with your breakfast order"- first problem here was there wasn't actually a phone in my room. So I headed down to reception to order my breakfast to find it empty. I waited 30 minutes for someone to come, tried calling out to see if there was anyone around to no response. Decided to skip my included breakfast and go to the Starbucks around the corner and THE FRONT DOOR WAS LOCKED. Again I waited and called out and there was no one around to even let me out of the hotel, so much for 24 hour reception! So I was stuck in this hotel with no food and no water, and decided to go back upstairs and pack my bag so that I could simply get out of there as soon as possible. Checked the mini bar for anything that I could eat or drink to tide me over- completely empty! I came back half an hour later- still no one at reception and door STILL locked. I waited ANOTHER 30 minutes calling out, still no answer. Finally, a Vietnamese woman came through the door at 8am with some groceries and was able to let me check out and get the hell away from that place as soon as possible. The hostel that I stayed at next was a welcome relief and cost me 1/3 of the price. In summary: -no breakfast between 6-8 even though supposedly anytime between 6-9:30 -reception is in fact not 24 hour and no warning is given when reception will be unattended nor how long it will be unattended for -empty mini bar fridge -locked me inside for 2 hours with no one around to let me out and no escape- thank god I wasn't catching a flight!

We are budget backpackers so £10 per night is our usual price. For that you usually get a nice, no frills room in Vietnam. The pictures of the rooms in Huong Trinh are quite deceiving and for £16pn a total insult to anyone paying to stay. We swallowed our pride and stayed here for 2 nights only because we wouldn't be able to get a refund through Agoda and the owner doesn't speak much English. We carry sleeping bag liners with us so we slept in them. If you want a basic roof over your head it will do but you can get better for cheaper. The owners take no pride in the place at all. Reception is filthy, the staircase littered with junk, spare toilet rolls and soaps etc. The bed had no sheets, just a mattress protector and the pillows are like bricks. We stayed in room 2 which involved only 1 flight of stairs but a trip to the top will take 5 flights, no lift! The place is ridiculously noisy: between children crying, screaming or playing, dogs howling/barking and the family who run it showing no regard for sleeping guests do not expect to get much sleep. Don't bother setting an alarm you def won't sleep past 6am! The volume of conversation from downstairs, they might as well be in the room with you. No offer of breakfast but I wouldn't eat here if you paid me. Rooms are in bad shape, wallpaper peeling, stained walls, the fridge stank and no ones ever used a duster in here! Loads of cobwebs and we woke up with several mosquito bites. The only good thing I can say is it had good internet connection.

This is NOT a 3* hotel. Far from it. It is a building-house. The family lives by/at the reception's area. We bookd for 4 Nights. The (new?) owner (?) /staff - do not speak English and far far from friendly and accommodating. Aparet from the fact that the rooms are on the large size, NOTHING you read on this unpleasent place - gives you the real deal! In every corner one will see mention of the place being (what they would it like to be perceived as)-hotel. IT IS NOT!!! On arrival, I had to wait and listen to nearly an hour of argument between the owners (?) to what it seems, the money they have received off Expedia is less than what I have paid.... So they wanted me to pay the rest. Then they argued that the price is for one person when it clearly stated 2 Adults. Room was on the top (5?) Floor. NO lift. No one to help you with the heavy suitcases. Room: although very big, is dirty. Bed cover is the actual bedding to sleep on, attached to the mattress. Shower, with toiletries but toilet really dirty. WiFi - strong. Location: very good, but the entrance to it - is off the main road. Not very safe. Breakfast: well, it is depend on the mood the owner is in.... They have 11 Set menues to chose from. I.e. Set 9: 2 sliced bread, jam and butter (not for-individual!!). NO hot drinks. One needs to pay extra for breakfast's drink(s)!!! Oh...and if you ended up on Sunday, like we did... Dream of breakfast... Whatever you chose - they will have... Tomorrow. Although we paid for 4N, we left after one night!

We paid for the rooms with a balcony but upon arrival was told that these were booked. The ladies who run this hotel are very nice and made up for the fact that the rooms we booked weren't available. They are very helpful and can books taxis, tours and also do your laundry (US$1 per kilo). Breakfast is great - so many choices!!! However, the ladies need to be a bit better with timeliness - they were late with breakfast most mornings!! The beds and pillows are REALLY hard. This is a great location - close to everything you want. Rooms 3 and 4 are up two flights of very steep stairs. I would recommend this place to people who don't care too much about their accommodation but want to stay in a convenient location.

There were a couple of steps, but when we saw our room we were delighted. It was cool and it wasnt very noisy. We read online that it could be hot and noisy, so that was a relieve. The hotel manager wasnt very helpful, she just tried to sell the excursions from her sister, who has a travel agency. We had the worst trip to the border of Cambodia, we literally lost 2 days - sitting in a bus. We only saw a temple, which was nice, but not worth the trip (about 18hrs in a small van).

I didn't stay in this hotel but had a lot of problems because they overbooked even though I had confirmation of my booking on booking.com. No one there to apologize or explain. The whole idea of booking is so that one is guaranteed a room where one has chosen to stay! Also very noisy children in alley Fully story below: I booked Huong Thrinh Hotel through Bookig.com. It was confirmed by you and I received a message from the hotel also. I flew from Hanoi with a bicycle packed and arrived at the hotel to find only a simple woman looking after a baby and no able to speak any English. She just looked confused. She eventually after about 15 min managed to contact the owner by phone who told me that there had been a mistake and she was fully booked and was sorry. She said she would organise for me to stay in a hotel nearby. I then had to make a couple of trips carrying my bicycle and bags to the other hotel which was more extensive. I managed to bargain them down to nearly the same price. However, I spent a lot of time on booking.com to find the place I wished to stay in, no one was there to apologize and make other arrangements and it meant I wasted a lot of time and effort in the booking and them moving my bicycle and bags. As I did not stay there I can not give my comments on line. There doesn't seem to be any possibility for feedback on accommodation that messed up the booking.

Probably the best place to stay if you are in HCMC on a tight budget. The rooms are really spacious and nice. The cleaners is a very friendly lady and the hotel feels very safe and cozy. The location is fine and within a walking distance to Pham Ngu Lao Street (nightlife). I would give it 5 starts if breakfast was nicer, though. Breakfast options were mostly pork and the tray on which they served food looked dirty.

The hotel is very well placed directly across from the park. Owner is friendly and helpful if you need advice. Rooms are basic but clean. WiFi is fast. Tv has lots of channels. Very good value for money. We stayed four nights. I recommend this hotel.
