We stayed here two nights at the end of a two-week tour of Cambodia and Laos and it was a great choice. An excellent boutique hotel. The only thing missing is a pool, but that is being built. Everything is spot on. The location is fab, just one minute from the Mekong, in the centre of Vientiane, ideal for the... More

The Ansara hotel is an elegant oasis from the sweltering heat of Vientiane. The staff are so kind and helpful. The complimentary fruit and macaroons are a lovely afternoon treat. After dinner, my 5 year old daughter asked for extra macaroons, and we received 4 more within minutes, free, of course. Our room is not large, but adequate and nicely... More

We booked this hotel through Agoda, our only criticism with this place was they had missed placed our booking which after an 8 hour bus trip made us nervous.!!! A great hotel with a lovely French Restaurant & friendly staff.

We stayed her for two nights as part of a tour and found it to be very comfortable and welcoming. We were particularly impressed that each room has it's own laptop and internet password included and shortly after arriving some lovely ladies knocked on our door with a bowl of fruit and a plate of macaroons! The staff are lovely... More

Ansara could not be a more perfect perch from which to explore this unexpectedly appealing city. We booked the large suite- room 15-which was beautify furnished and comfortable with high ceilings, a separate stall shower and jacuzzi tub. The mood at Ansara is one of understated elegance - the same kind of gracious , professional hospitality one finds at a... More

Really liked this hotel, nice restaurant, good rooms with good service. Is also very well located to walk down to the Mekong and also for the night market on the front. The added extras like free soft drinks in the minibar and the laptop in each room was a very nice touch.

A beautiful yet somehow sterile hotel. We stayed in room 15 a suite for 2 nights. At 256 US dollars per night I was really hoping for something pretty wonderful. The room (15) was gorgeous nice living area with tv and stereo, complimentary mini bar with sodt drinks eg. 1 can of coke, 1 sprite, 1 fanta, 4 bottles of... More

Despite living and traveling in Asia for over 10 years, this was my first trip to Laos and I found Vientiane an absolute refuge. No 7-11 directly in front of another 7-11, no noisy horn honking and plenty of green space around the city with a small town feel. Ansara Hotel was a refuge within a refuge. Initially, my tuk-tuk... I spent quite a few days at the Ansara and it is a very nice small hotel. It is situated on a small side street in just 1/2 block from the river and main tourist area. It was very quiet at night in terms of the surrounding neighborhood (although noise between rooms can be an issue). The rooms are nicely... More

This year we went to Bangkok,Vientaine,Luang Prebang,Hanoi and Halong Bay and the Ansara was the best of all the hotels that we stayed in.Others failed because of little things, bathrooms, services and so on, but the Ansara came out top every time, we couldn't fault it. Staff were all superb, friendly and welcoming, food fantastic and the location was great,... More
