i spent almost 2 weeks there just to relax after long moving. I liked the place.
Ok, just to set some expectations straight. This is a 'guesthouse' - and the family lives here too if I'm not mistaken. At least they were here when we stayed here. Were they rude? Not to us at least. Think of this more like a 'homestay' than a hostel.. :)
Rooms - nice and clean and heated properly. Despite it...

We stayed here for a few nights either side of a trip in the country side, the staff are rude and unhelpful and will physically move you to clean the table whilst you are still eating your breakfast, Idre himself is rude and we heard quite a few stories about him being dishonest whilst booking tours, not providing enough water,...

I just spent about 4 nights at Idre's before and after a Gobi tour. As promised, I was met at the train station at 6AM by Idre himself, then set up in a private room as I'd requested 3 months earlier. The place is clean, clean, clean and his staff exceptionally accommodating. I like the communal TV and breakfast areas,...

I stayed at Idre's guesthouse, UB Mongolia June 2010 and booked a tour with him for 2 weeks through Mongolia. I was advised to leave luggage with them in there locked luggage store room.
A luggage tag was made with my passport number, and a log made in the log book.
I had a great time on my tour, but...

We loved our stay here- the staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms are deliciously warm and cosy, and the self-service kitchen was really convenient, with a toaster, microwave, hobs and hot/cold water at your disposal. Hot showers and free wifi another plus. Tasty breakfast. Plenty of room to sit and chat with fellow travellers. Just a few minutes from...

We stayed here for 3 nights. Cheap, clean and attracts the backpacker scene which means that it can be a bit noisy but overall a lovely place. Cheap internet and near the train station which was convenient. Can book tours from here also. Popular place.
Though located in a part of town that's quite run down, the convenience of the location can't be faulted. Just across the road is the long distance bus station, 2 min cab ride away is the train station. Also in walking distance is Gandan Monastery (northwards up the street) and the main streets of interest (Peace Ave and Tourist Street,...
