We greatly enjoyed our 4 nights in the Hotel Avicenna The staff are excellent with a really personal service, remembering where we had planned to go each time we returned. The location is excellent, the route takes about 5 mins through the Arasta Bazaar directly into the grounds of the Blue Mosque and right next to the mosaic museum. Also,... More

This hotel is located just next to the train track and the room we had was just besides it so we had no sleep at all. I would never recommend visitors to stay at Avicenna hotel if they are looking for a quiet environment and restful nights (trains also run at night in Istnabul). Other than that, it's walking distance... More

From the outside the hotel has great ambience, also great location near the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and all the major attractions. However, be warned there is NO LIFT, so we only ventured to the top restaurant once -nuts served with our wine was very stale and decided not to have a meal. Maybe someone will finally take some bleach... More

We stayed here during november 2010 and absolutly loved the experience. My husband & I were in Istanbul for 4 days and had a great time. The hotel is located in the heart of the city and is practically a 5 minute walk to all the major attractions like blue mosque, hagia sophia and bacillica cistern. It was a cosy... More

The hotel is very appealing from the outside and in an excellent location, just a short walk (5 mins) from the Hippodrome and Hagia Sophia, etc. It is also close to many bars and restaurants. The room isn't the biggest but we weren't planning to spend a lot of time in it! It was very clean and tidy and nicely... More

Stayed here in April 2012. Friendly and attentive staff, clean rooms and bathroom, fantastic view from the terrace. could not believe to find something so good for the relatively modest price. will surely come back again. Highly recommend to the other fellow travellers .

We enjoyed our stay, overall. The rooms were very comfortable: a mix between modern deco with some more classical touches. We had a balcony, which was very nice to sit on in the evenings. The hotel is within easy walking distance to all the major attractions. We were a family of four, and asked for two adjoining rooms, which they... More

This hotel has great location, affordable rates, clean rooms and helpful staff. I you are lucky you can get a room with a water view. The free breakfast is excellent. The location is a couple of blocks below the Blue Mosque and walking distance to the museums and several resturants. The bar on the top floor has a great view... More

This hotel is ideally situated in the historic quarter so that you're within walking distance to the great sites. The building itself is charming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (like all Turkish people). The room was very small--I had two single beds--but that's what I expect in a boutique hotel in a big city. I was in... More
