My wife and I spent two nights here before a ten day tour of Turkey arranged by Erdal of Istanbul Stopover tours and two nights prior to leaving for home. This is a fabulous treasure tucked away in the Sultanahmet area of Istanbul, only a five minute walk to the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque and the Ayasofya Museum. The Grand Bazaar... More

The service in this gem of a hotel is exceptional. The staff are like members of your family and sometimes even nicer! Gaye, one of the owners deserves a special mention as she goes ot of her way to accommodate any request you may have. The hotel itself is well located in Sultanahmet, the old quarter, which in itself, gives... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in the Ayasofya Hotel. We had a wonderful experience here. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a great location in the old part of Istanbul. The rooftop bar is lovely with gorgeous views. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. The hotel staff arranged for our transportation... More

What a wonderful stay, was so good to return after 2 years and what a surprise. All the rooms and bathrooms had been upgraded but still felt home from home. This is such a little gem of a hotel and the entire staff must be congratulated on working as a team. Well done Gaye you have made so many people's... More

A unique hotel as it is divided into rooms and apartments. The breakfast areas are lovely; the yoghurt excellent. Very convenient for sight-seeing by foot. We stayed here twice, two days on arrival and two weeks later for two days on departure.

A small well run hotel which is situated within easy walking distance from the Blue Mosque and Tram System. This is the second time we have stayed here, and would come back again next time we visit Istanbul. The reception staff are friendly, efficient and fluent in English; the welcome is sincere; the bedrooms are small, but clean; the rooms... More

The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to to the historic sections of Sultanahmet. The staff and management could not be more friendly and helpful, even guiding us to a restaurant when we unsure of the way. The hotel is not grand but is quirky and has a lot of character. We also arranged a 6... More

We spent five nights at this lovely hotel; we were lucky to have one of the apartments just behind the hotel which gave us lots of extra space and a beautiful views over the Bosphorus. The hotel is an easy walk from all the main sites in the historic district (Sultanahmet) of Istanbul and was perfect for us as we... More

Istanbul is a wonderful city with so much to see and explore. The benefit of staying at the Aya Sofya is that if you go out and turn left, you are just minutes from the tourist sites: the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofya itself and the Topkapi Palace...and if you turn right, you are in a typical Turkish neighbourhood with... We enjoyed our 3 night stay at ayasofya and were fortunate to stay in the apartment F3 in the annexe which had incredible views of the sea. The room was clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable. Breakfasts were good and plentiful. Being close to all the main sites was a bonus so could avoid transport. One word of... More
