This hotel was in a GREAT location--very safe, within easy walking distance of Hagia Sophia & the Blue Mosque. Our room was on the roof floor, overlooking the Blue Mosque (which did mean being awaked sometime after 4 every morning for the first call to prayer, but it was worth it). Breakfast was very good, and served by incredibly nice... More

This small hotel does have its shortcomings but it gave us many beautiful memories of Turkey. I would stay here again just to rekindle the feelings. CONS: Small sleeping areas, creaky floor, bathroom requires you to step up onto another creaky floor, narrow staircase between floors. PROS: At night time, relaxing on the balcony right next to the beautifully illuminated... More

Overall the hotel is worth staying at, the personnel is very friendly, the hotel is just 2 minutes walk from Aia Sofia and Blue Mosque and other places of interest. The reception functions 24 hours and the receptionists are very helpful. As for breakfast it is served on the top floor and the breakfast room has 2 terraces, one of... More

Firstly, this is not a luxury hotel, but it offers the best location imaginable. It is clean, and the staff were great! After a long day out exploring Istanbul, it was the perfect place to come back and rest.

This hotel offers a very good location to the highlights of Istanbul and a terrace at the top with a fantastic view at the Blue Mosque at one side and of the sea of Marmara at the other side. It is the best place for your breakfast! The hospitality of the staff is great, they make you feel at home... More

The Ararat is not a luxury hotel. The rooms are clean but modest and a bit small. the staff is quite welcoming and helpful. what you're paying for is location; 200 metres from Blue Mosque and a call to prayer at 6.00; it's truly wonderful with breakfast (very good) on the terrace and free Wi-Fi.

The reviews are very mixed. The staff are very honest and helpful. It is true that the rooms are small and what you're paying for is location; 200 metres from Blue Mosque and a call to prayer at 6.00; it's truly wonderful with breakfast (very good) on the terrace and free Wi-Fi. For a longer stay, it would be more... More

The Ararat is by no means a luxury hotel. The rooms are clean but modest (though ours was somewhat larger than average, with a separate alcove as we were a family of 4). There's but a door and a small sign to indicate there's actually a hotel there. But the staff is quite welcoming and helpful, the room is affordable,... More
