Askin was really accommodating for me and my friend when we stayed. It was cheaper than most hostels and for the location it is absolute perfect. Just off from the blue mosque you can watch the sunset over the sea and the call to prayer each evening. Also the staff were so friendly and accommodating for each of our requests. we would highly recommend staying there and the rooms are really clean and airy.

Simply put, you get what you pay. I paid a decent price for an excellent location. The hotel staff was friendly. Most importantly, the manager running this place will go to all extent to ensure you have a good time. Only downfall is that there was no breakfast provided(perhaps due to the fact that we booked it during Ramadan).

The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are clean and a good size, The wifi is a bit untermitant I got a deal on a website so I guess it depends how much you pay. It has a roof terrace with an amazing view, but there is no cafe or bar there and no wifi coverage. The staff are friendly but not very proffesional. Its the kind of place that could be great if they made a bit more effort

Hotel staff did not honor the reservation (booked double room with sea view got single room overlooking street). Noisy environment from loud music in nearby restaurant. Room was smelly and humid with mold in shower and peeling wall paint with hair and toothpaste stuck on tiles above the sink. The shower did not drain properly. Breakfast consisted of half sliced tomato, half sliced cucumber, 2 slices of cheese, olives, bread, tea or coffee. Very disappointing hotel.

Chose this spot because I was travelling with my sister who had never been to Istanbul and struggles generally with stairs. They have a lift-accessible rooftop and a very short walk to everything Sultanahmet has to offer. The brekkie was sub-standard but many rooms in this location are anyway. If you like boiled eggs you'll be fine. Room was spacious, owner spoke both English and German. Friendly and helpful staff in general. Recommended spot for accessibility and value. Picture taken from rooftop.

The location is perfect, the rooms are basic but clean and well serviced. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is a disaster. Be warned, they will insist on being paid in cash. Having said all that - the location cancels all the negative points, the hotel really is in the heart of it all !

The hotel is superb in location. Few steps away from Sultanahmed Mosque or Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. In front of it is Arasta Bazaar the food place and variety shops. Groceries is nearby about 100 meter away on the left. I get here by train from the Attartuk Airport, changing at Zetinburnyu towards Kabatas by getting off at Sultanahmed. Dragging my single luggage from this station towards Blue Mosque around 400m and further straight another 150m and you'll be at the hotel door steps. Only cost me 8TL per person. I have created the place in Waze in case you choose to use taxi. Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Topikapi Palace/ Gulhanne Park is just 10 - 12 minutes walking with childrens with amazing views. About the hotel. I was here second time. The room is basic. Bed are nice and clean. There are many power socket but only two functioning. Luckily I always travel with extension cords. Shower in room 101 and 102 are acceptable. But if you wake up too early, do not expect the shower to be warm. I have to drain it for half an hour before allowing my kids to bath. No kettle, glass or iron so maybe not too good for business trip but you can request from the desk (the fact is that it takes me second time request for me to get the kettle and cups.. kettle condition not so good and I was given paper cups only!). The breakfast for me is no big deal and appears the same what I've been served exact same month a year ago i.e. Bread, sliced cucumber and tomato, few cuts of sausages, egg, jam and butter. It comes with turkish tea that are nice to my taste. Yes, the view while having the breakfast is very nice. I wish I can attach the picture here. In term of the staff or family member of the hotel, the receptionist is mostly straight on business, the landlady always smiling and couldn't speak English. The landlord can speak English and looks helpful (trying to find me a kettle and resorted in paper cups). Overall, the hotel wins by its great location, which the main reason I stayed here for the second time. You'll feel safe going out walking during the night. If you're complaining on breakfast or better room with the money you pay why not staying at Fours Seasons Hotel which is less 100m down the corner ;).

WONDERFUL location. Literally 5 minutes from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Mosaic Museum, Hippodrome, Cistern. Fun touristy neighborhood. Elevator serves all floors. Rooms clean and basic; toasty warm in December snow and also have their own AC. Staff were nice and friendly, very helpful with a little language barrier. They want/require to be paid in cash (Turkish Lira) rather than credit card, but with a little notice that's not a problem. Great restaurants nearby (Lady Diana, Palatium, Shadow) and good pubs (Happy Hole, Just Bar). Also a very relaxed shopping area (Artisan Bazaar). Small bodega around the corner for electrical converters, razors, essentials. Very pleasant. The breakfast terrace has a great view of the Blue Mosque and the waterway with moored ships. It's not your luxury and romantic getaway, but a very serviceable home base.

I got to the hotel and was told my room would be ready in 20 minutes. I waited a whole 90 minutes in the with a swollen faced manager. When I asked if my room was ready he barked that it was ready 30 minutes prior. When I got to my room, the lights didn't work, there was water all over the bathroom floor and there was no hot water. I immediately demanded another room in which the power continuously went out and the WI-FI was dismal. Breakfast was a piece of polony, a cold egg, a few slices of cucumber and some tomato with last weeks bread I am sure. I ate under a "covered terrace" and the rain water dripped all over my breakfast. The manager watched and did nothing. Tea was given to me in a glass that hadnt been washed either. Further, the quoted price was then changed on the day of checkout. At 60 Euro a night, this nighmare of a place is NOT to be visited.
