Travelled to Beirut for the first time due to business. Allowed the client to book the rooms - should have known better. The Hotel Monroe is in a nice location, right on the marina, and near to what I presume is the business district - certainly a lot of the offices I visited while here were within walking distance of... Despite the low ranking and some un-fare reviews about the hotel - We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights - Location is excellent, stuff very helpful and polite. Rooms have very nice view on the Zeitouna Marina and the sea. Rooms are OK in size, small bathroom but clean. The only disadvantage was breakfast "Poor and basic" but will... More

I expected much more from a hotel with such a location and heritage. The views from the rooms are amazing and the room itself is fine but small. The bathrooms are really tiny and the tiles there are old and mouldy and there are barely any amenities in the room. One has to pay for wifi and the food at... More

Dear SDarine, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We appreciate getting feedback from our guests and always strive to improve ourselves. We have full amenities in the bathroom (Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel, Body lotion), though I'm not sure to what lack of amenities you are referring to. Internet is chargeable at our Hotel and most hotels... More

The title of my review sums it up - the Monroe is a perfectly fine hotel. The rooms are on the small side, and although they're clean, they seem a bit musty (I also noticed some mold in the shower). The sea views are great, especially if you can get upgraded to a sea view room for the cost of... More

Dear Erin2510, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We appreciate getting feedback from our guests and always strive to improve ourselves. The interruption to your business meetings was to ensure that you had everything you needed and in an effort to provide good service. The only decent person at the reception is Elie Salloum the rest are rude and don't even try to be helpful. The food is bad so don't pay for breakfast you are better off making your own sandwich. Also the wireless internet does not work (they sold it to me and did not tell me until Elie helped me in... More

Great location, friendly staff, I stayed there new years week which was quite busy but still the service was very effecient and the staff very helpfull, my number one complaint would be the bathrooms, they definitely need renovation and aren't very clean, even after house keeping has just cleaned the room, although i had my doubts that house keeping simply... Dear Zeina R, Thank you for your feedback. I would like to assure you that our housekeeping team takes extra care to ensure that the cleaning is very efficient. It is true that the bathrooms need renovation and we hope to have the chance to take care of them this year. We look forward to welcome you again soon. More

We agree with all the other reviewers who praised the location of the Monroe Hotel. In just a few minutes, you can be walking along Beirut's amazing Corniche. The rooms are comfortable, functional and quite spacious. A practical choice for a business trip (but not necessarily for more independent, leisurely exploration of the city). We have special praise for the... More

The best thing going for this place is where it's located. On the plus side -- clean, serviceable if small rooms, contemporary appointments, decent bar/lounge. But the negatives outweigh -- French service (ie, waiters inattentive and look like they'd rather be elsewhere), barely passable buffet breakfast included in the price, $44 dollar a day internet (although you get 3 hrs... Many reviewers comment about the internet, but unfortunately this is out of our hands and a problem in all of Lebanon. It is expensive and slow. Hopefully the government will sort this out soon. The free internet offered in the Sanderson Restaurant was done as a response to our guest reviews and to try and make up for the general... More
