The only good thing about my stay was the reception, furniture in the suites are old, some lights not working, very bad minibar, as a conclusion it is not the best place to stay But good if your just want a bed for the night.

For big plus: 1)Breathtaking sea view from the room. Downtown of Beirut looks like Manhattan. 2)Very friendly and always smilling staff 3)Best choice if you have event in Le Royal hotel, which is only 2 min walk 4)very clean and spacious room 5) breakfast in the rooftop restaurant.6) Swimming pool! For minus: 1) If you have problem with falling asleep with noise around take ear plugs. Highway next to the hotel is generating constant noise. 2) Some of the furniture and towels are quite old 3) center of Beirut is quite far away and there is no public transport. You need a car and will always stay in traffic jam. To sum up I really enjoy stay here and can reccommend this hotel without any hesitation.

We stayed in the hotel in our last trip to lebanon.. " may 2015 " and I would strongly recommend staying there.. Amazing view, great service and the staff were lovely and so professional. The room was clean and highly furnished and the restaurant was good with delicious breakfast. Visit lebanon and enjoy Residence de France.

On the positive side: 1) Wonderful sea-view from both bedroom and living room: you can even see a nice view while laying in bed 2) comfortable bed 3)Spacious bedroom, sitting room and balcony 3) Great staff 4) Next to Le Royal hotel so if you have an event there, Residence de France is a more affordable stay On the Negative side: 1) Outside highway noise: Must bring earplugs to be able to sleep 2)Some rooms have new, some have old furniture

Photos on the website are old. The staff is super friendly:ask for whatever u need and its done. Location: perfectly convenient. Its near to everything you need. View of the sea is breathtaking from any angel. They definitely need renovation. Bedsheets, towels , walls painting and breakfast menu makeover. The restaurant is overlooking a beautiful view of the sea. All of that never stopped us from having massive fun in Beirut. If they will renovate it we will definitely go back again.

This is my second stay at Residence de France for 2 summers in a raw and will definitely have many more! Amazingly welcoming staff and manager, never have "no" for an answer, always going the extra mile regardless how tricky my request was. Breath-taking sea-view, close and far at the same time, 3 minutes walking distance to the highway from which access is easy to Beirut / Byblos / etc...Despite its closeness to the highway, the hotel is so calm!! A small yet charming swimming pool is just what is needed for such a small and cozy hotel. Away from Beirut's traffic and noise, while only 20 minutes away from Beirut... Cleanliness, professionalism, great location, renovated rooms and a great value for money too!! Couldn't ask for more! I recommend it for everyone!

We found the place dirty, smelling of kerosene, ripped carpets and sheets, the air conditioning didn't work, the pool was being repaired for 6 months, the balcony was unsafe and dirty. If you enjoy staying in filth, smelling of cigarettes in every room - then this is your place!!! If you stay more than 3 nights you can take home your own free Hobo.

Response from Fady A, Manager at Residence de France
Responded 1 Nov 2013
Dear Valuable Guest, We are very sorry that your visit to our property did not meet your expectations. However, I am personally very surprised of your feedback, since I believe it does not represent real situation of our hotel. It is true that when you came, the pool was under maintenance, and as I have told you, it only needed 2 days (and not 6 months as you said). As a compensation, I offered you one of the 2 rooms you booked free of charge, with free breakfast for all the guests. And since you were not satisfied, I also offered you free access to a near aqua park at a five stars resort. Moreover, I personally helped you find another hotel to spend your vacation in, and provided you with a free taxi to take you and your family there. Reading your comments regarding the unsafe balconies and the smell of cigarettes in the “non-smoking rooms” makes me astonished, and I will be checking this matter. However, we do apologize again and again if our cozy hotel was not up to your expectations, and we wish you come back and visit us again to live the real Residence de France hospitality experience. Best Regards, Fady El Achkar
