Back then, when I was younger, I used to sleep in some cheap backpackers... But it's the the first time of my life that I paid almost 50 euros for a bed with a kind of "white" dirty stuff on the sheets, with coackroach on the ground, with rusty shower, etc... And the worst thing it's that the manager of the hotel didn't really want to give us a discount or kind of rearrangment for that. Avoid this place, definitely !

Rough guide suggested that this was second best of the budget hotels on this road after the Naseem. Sadly I don't think so. A crappy shower with lots of mildew and a bed with only a bottom sheet and one of those big fluffy and pretty unclean rugs as a top sheet was not very appetising. No window, but with aircon and fan. I woukd recommend looking elsewhere.

This place is so dirty that wall are more dirty than the floor and the bathroom was floated as water was leaking from the sink. They also charge us an extra night because a double booking they made and we could not get our money back, Well, I gave them the price for the worst accommodation I have been.

if you're not fussy on size of room, quality, etc a great place to spend a few days soaking up the scene of muscat compared to classical places in CBD(local parlance for central business district) or on seashore all along the coast towards Qurum or Seeb(airport) from Mattrah town ... here you can walk to the souk, to the excellent Bait al Baranda museum or walk the narrow streets behind the souk & the corniche waterfront, soaking up the true Muscat scene of coffeeshops, barbershops , tailors for men & women etc etc. The Fish market & fruits/veg market is just opposite too. In the evenings , everyone walks along the beautiful corniche waterfront & harbour & you can do the same to experience the breeze, after a hot day

We wanted to stay around the corniche area where we could walk to souk and not get taxis and there are non of the big hotel chains only small hostel style guest houses. This hotel is in a great location for walking the corniche, visiting the fish market, wandering the souk and being in old town Muttrah. We had a room overlooking the corniche - had requested this but they had said no doubles available but on arrival we were given one so grateful for that. We knew what to expect so it did its purpose for us. Dont stay if you expect anything above basic but otherwise bed large, corniche view great, souk next door and price more than great for Muscat. Travellers will be in a great place here - beers available next door at Marina View. If you want something a bit more relaxing and a room you can spend time in go to Al Khuwair but this is OK for 1/2 nights,…

This hotel is moderately priced, and our room overlooked the harbour and was big enough for a family. There's not much furniture, but the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The views of the Corniche are lovely, day or night, and while the bathroom was quite dated, there was plentiful hot water and a bath with shower over. Stay here if you are used to travellers hotels (rather than the chain variety) and want to be in the heart of old Muttrah. By the way, the Indian owner can arrange anything you like - money changing, rental cars, etc. And, I'm not sure about food - we chose to eat outside the hotel, but it's possible they do breakfasts (though there is a great juice/tea place next door where you can eat while watching the town wake up).

Conveniently located on the corniche, with free parking out the front, but at $40 for a small room with a bare hint of a shower, it's not really "budget". Staff on duty when I arrived had no knowledge of my booking and was pretty rude (it turned out to be no problem getting a room in summer though, which gave me the creepy experience of being seemingly the only guest in the hotel). The Indian manager later apologised. Aircon's so loud that you'll have to turn it off at night, TV reception terrible and breakfast is poor. However, it still makes a decent base, especially if you have a car and are heading out all day.

This hotel is located right on the corniche just steps away from the Muttrah souq. The fish market is across the street There are several rooms with balconies that look out onto the corniche. The location is excellent. It is also a good deal. It is more expensive than similar hotels where I have stayed in other places but hotels are more expensive in Muscat. The hotel manager was very helpful. He helped us to plan various day trips as well as a short trip to Salalah and we were very happy with his recommendations. There is room for improvement in terms of housekeeping and it would be very helpful if wifi were included. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I booked this hotel by email one week in advance. I was going to Muscat to sit for my MRCP examination at the Royal Hospital in Muscat. I stayed at this hotel for five days. The hotel is situated on the sea-front, facing the sea. In summer, days are long in the Gulf. Sunrise usually occurs early in the morning, at around 4 am. My room was facing the sea and every day, in the morning, I would throw open the window to watch the sea. I would switch off the AC and open the windows to let in the fresh sea breeze. Evenings also are as pleasant as the mornings. It cools down by about 6 pm and I used to go down on a leisurely stroll down the beach road facing the hotel. There is a good Indian Restaurant a few steps from the Hotel. Food is excellent. Both Indian and Arabic food is available at inexpensive rates. There is a small restaurant within the hotel managed by the hotel staff, but I found the food better in the restaurant outside. Language is no bar in Muscat. Almost everybody speaks or understands English, including the Omani Taxi Drivers. Most of them also speak Urdu/Hindi. Shopping is a bit expensive, compared to other places in the Middle East. People are very nice and courteous. The hotel staff are polite, helpful and always cheerful. You don't have "tipping" trouble here. All in all, it was a pleasant stay. I would very much like to revisit this place in the near future.…
