We were surprised at the location of this hotel as it is not very central but it did not matter and actually added to our experience as the city centre was very quiet anyway and only a short bus ride away for 75cents!! My husband and I stayed at Posada de los Pajaros for a portion of our honeymoon trip in South America. The hotel is absolutely charming, and we loved the location: In a relatively quiet strip of La Barra beach pretty much equidistant between Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio.
