This hotel is in a great location and is safe. Otherwise there would be no reason to stay there as the rooms are small and some of them don't have outside facing windows and therefore smell bad (humidity?). Also as these rooms are facing inside there is a lot of noise coming from the reception. I stayed in 3 different... More

This place was nice enough. Very small rooms and extremely small bathroom. The staff were nice...until I checked out and was settling my bill. I accidentally withdrew too much money from the bank machine (we'll call it a stupidity tax on my part) and handed it over to the front desk clerk who helped me count it. It was right,... More

If a place to get a good night`s sleep yet no frills at all is what you are looking for, Hotel Ambalá is the place to go. Great location and really really sweet staff. They were so eager to please me and help me when I had trouble with a wrongly issued voucher. Many thanks again. I will never forget... More

The room I got is minuscule with a small window towards a shaft and the smallest bathroom I ever saw outside a ship. However, everything is there, it's clean and the staff is very helpful. Breakfast, although dubbed "desayuno americano", is average Colombian. You could do better, but you certainly also could do worse. More

Good place to stay for a few days. Rooms are extremely small and so is the bathroom. Breakfast is included but poor. Service and Staff very good. Beds are not too comfortable. More

This hotel is 2 easy blocks from the main Plaza and within walking distance to all the plazas and sights. Across the street is a University. The price is medium range, you pay for the location and safe area. The rooms for a single are small... very small. Avoid room 204 at all costs. This room is super tiny, above... More

This hotel was a great find! Centrally located in the La Candelaria area, I was able to comfortably walk to many places. (Grab a map at the airport or at the tourist office opposite corner from the main cathedral in the Bolivar Plaza.) The Gold Museum was only a few blocks away from Ambala. The Transmilenio station is there for... More

Hotel Ambala was our first stay upon arriving in Colombia. Having read in Lonely Planet that this was like a "capule hotel" we where very surprised that we hade two large beds and a normal size bathrooms. Ambala is situated in La Candelaria a lot of sights is just around the corner. For the price you pay this its a... More
