Hotel excelsior is one of the best five star hotels I've stayed in in terms of service and ammenities. It is a bit old, but it has great prices and all in all it's just a great hotel where you can have a very pleasant and comfortable stay in asuncion. More

The hotel is build in 70's and looks like that it's still in same shape. Lobby is dark and not clearly structured. Restaurants and bars below average based on international standards. Breakfast is poor. Gym has extremely old machines. At least I got room about 40m2 including only bed and small table, doesn't feel comfortable, at least not for me.... More

I agree with everything the previous revewier stated. I would simply add that getting room service is very cheap, and we took advantage of that for breakfast. Overall the service was very good. We would stay there again. More

Having stayed in the Excelsior for three nights in November 2005 I have to say that we were impressed with the overall service offered by the hotel.
