Alamanda Inn is a very nice colonial guesthouse in a quiet residential area. The rooms are not luxurious but with nice old furniture (unfortunately the bath/shower is also old). We only stayed two nights, and both nights there was a power problem so that the air condition was not working and it was incredibly hot in the room - however... More

Wonderful rooms, delicious and fresh breakfast. Very relaxing outdoor area/bar. The local staff were very nice, the French owners were helpful, but a little cold/distant (never really greeted us, etc.). Conveniently located right next door to Air Bagan office (in case you are booking flights upon arrival). Early morning taxis (for sunrises, etc.) can be an issue. Be sure to... More

We stayed at Alamanda on our last night in Myanmar and wished we could've stayed longer. It's a lovely place, very laid back and just what we needed. It's not that close to downtown, but that was exactly why we liked it. We had seen the pagoda when we first landed in Yangon (before leaving for Bagan and Inle Lake),... More

We were there with our two kids and we had an amazing time! It is a very freindly place to stay. The food is great! The restaurant is a very nice place not only to eat but also to relax and get zen.... Air con in all rooms, clean and quiet. The breakfast... I mean: The Beakfast!!! One of the... More

Having just returned from Burma, we were lucky to stay two nights at the Alamanda Inn - once at the beginning and once at the end of our trip. This is really a calm retreat from the city and the highlight for us was the outside restaurant - a beautiful shady pavilion serving delicious food. Only 10 minutes cab ride... More

Alamanda Inn is a respite of calm, civilization and warmth. I LOVED the people of Myanmar, however the accomodations are still playing "catch-up" as entrepreneurs and the government scramble to build much needed tourism infrastructure. Lucky for us, these two lovely French ladies have built a beautiful B&B, trained their dedicated staff well, and provide a very personal welcome. This... More

I found Alamanda Inn by chance while searching the internet and was very pleased with the choice. For a small place, the cleanliness is excellent and the food great - good breakfasts and French food for dinner. It is a lovely relaxing place to return to after a busy day downtown. I stayed in the downstairs room and was pleased to... More

This place is fabulous. Too fabulous as we could not find a single night available during our 10 days stay in Yangon and were only able to pay a day visit. Great garden in the most quiet environment of the city, away from the pollution of downtown. Next time, I will make sure I book in advance! More

We have just stayed at Alamanda Inn for two nights and will be going back for our last night in Burma. Really enjoyed our stay. Food is excellent and the breakfast is fantastic especially the Swiss muesli. We had the room pictured above. It was very quiet. The mozzie net was especially handy as there are plenty of them. The... More

It was my second time in Alamanda, and it was a pleasure to meet the owners again. The tropical garden has grown to be enchanting and there is now a new room, with a private patio! Compared to the first time I came to Yangon, there was a lot of tourists in the center of the town, crowdy and noisy,... More
