I stayed this hotel for 1 week in May. Very clean and air conditioned hotel. It seems we can enjoy to stay lake side however have nothing to do in the hotel. Internet connection is very poor. The hotel has wifi spot in the lobby however very hard to connect. We can connect gmail and other websites however if you... More

We stayed at this hotel on 3 separate nights during a tour of Myanmar. Every night we stayed here, we got sick from eating in the restaurants (both of us!). I don't know what the issue was, but both I and my travel partner had issues--almost immediately--from eating anything that had a dairy component or fresh fruit. In addition, this... More

This hotel has recently been renovated and is really worth a visit. I found the staff friendly and helpful, service prompt, and the view of the Shwedagon Pagoda from the room at sunset was by itself enough to justify the stay. More

We made a thorough research before choosing this hotel in Yangon, which we had shortlisted together with the Traders and the Chatrium. All in all, we stayed for just one night here, but it was enough for us to take away a good impression of this hotel. The good: - Pool has great views of Kandawgyi Lake. Unfortunately it was... More

While my stay at this hotel was OK, a number of small issues were irritating. The lighting in the room was very poor, the tiles in the bathroom were very slippery, especially in the shower recess - a particular hazard if one is caught having a shower when the power goes off, as it frequently does everywhere in Myanmar -... We stayed here by accident as our chosen hotel was overbooked (a fairly common occurance in Yangon we learned). Gather this hotel is owned by the military - so not a great start. However, a comfortable luxury hotel with swanky asian decor. Lovely staff, luxurious bathrooms, really comfortable beds, quiet and a great cake trolley! The best bit is the... More

We stayed two nights in two rooms and had a fine time. The hotel does not really have much charm to it, but delivers services as expected. Service minded staff. Good rooms, very good breakfast and good pool, very welcome for a family in the hot season. Running on the lake boardwalk in the (early and not so hot) morning... More

This is a nice hotel with good service. The location--at the edge of Kandawgyi Lake--is also good. Each member of the staff is charming and, like all Burmese, each has a ready smile and is eager to provide whatever service a guest may require. Zaw Myo Tun, the Rooms Division Manager, is particularly helpful and arranged for me to extend... More

This is a busy city hotel in a beautiful location. Sitting on the lake, with a view of the Shwedagon Pagoda, and parks all round, its location would be hard to beat. The entrance brings you into a large reception area with seating, a bar and restaurants leading off. Kandawgyi Palace has beautiful, well-equipped bedrooms – ours had a lovely... More

This hotel was undergoing massive renovation while we were there. The pool was closed as was part of the patio overlooking the lake. However, the room we stayed in was large, clean and comfortable. All the usual luxury hotel amenities. Our room on the fifth floor had a large window overlooking the Shwedagon Pagoda. Memorable. You do have to take... More
