This is a hotel, the level of which is somewhat equivalent to Marriott Residence or Hyatt Place, etc. - it's almost there, but not quite the international level, which is expected as Korea is not known for being the tourist destination (except for other Asians). My room was clean and the BREAKFAST WAS FANTASTIC (with various food selections and on-site... More

Rooms are basically clean but they are really old, giving them a slightly dingy look. Paint peeling off the furnishings, mysterious dark spots on the carpets, calcified goo on the soap dish...that sort of thing. But critical things, like bed sheets and towels, are clean. I can't imagine why anybody would want to stay here unless they were going to... More

Service is very good, but not all staff members are fluent in English, so guests must be patient. Be warned that the hotel is very far from the center of Seoul. Although there is a free shuttle service, which is very helpful and always prompt, most areas of interest in central Seoul are still very far from the station where... More

The downsides: very remote location with very few amenities nearby. Isolated and far from city central. You will need to know the right bus to take or trust taxi to take you where you need to go. very poorly equipped with basic amenities like shampoo and other basic bathroom toilettires other hotels give out complimentarily Staff has improved somewhat. I... More

We stayed here for a conference being held in the hotel complex, so it was really the only choice. It is like an average chain hotel, but the nightly rate strictly includes the room only. Everything else has to be paid for (breakfast, internet, fitness, shampoos which are part of the minibar for some reason). The only extras you don't... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful, desk clerks spoke English well, bellmen always made sure taxi drivers knew where you wanted to go. Hotel also provides a shuttle bus every 20 minutes (prime time and less often non-prime time) to/from the Yang-jae subway stop. But it took me 3 days to find out where the return pick-up location was... More

My family of four traveled to Seoul from 12/20 - 12/27. I made last minute hotel reservations - my limited choices were: 2 rooms in a downtown hotel for about $200/night each, or this hotel, about 35 minutes by subway for $100. We choose this one to save a lot of money. There is a free shuttle nearby the Yangjae... More

I had the misfortune of staying that the Seoul MunJwa Koekwan Hotel. I only learned later than this hotel is susidized by the government and does not attempt to be competitive on any level with other private hotels in the city. I stay one night (thankfully). The description for the hotel says city center, but it's far from the city... More
