We stayed in Dahab hostel for only one night. We had one day flight stop in Cairo, and we wanted to take the day to check the pyramids. The hostel set a cab for us with an English speaker driver, which was very nice, picking us up in the airport and dropping us at the hostel. Everything was as planned,... More

Cannot fault this place. Great backpack vibe. Rooftop location terrific, reached by a quaint Swiss c.1874 lift. The EGP45 room a true bargain shower was always hot. I was not on a short budget and got collected from airport on arrival for day at pyramids. Cost EGP300 car and driver, well organised. Very honest helpful people. Let me check-in and... More

Very cheap with friendly helpful staff, great location and beautiful hostel, lovely rooms. This is a great travellers hang out. All rooms open out onto a roof top terrace absolutely full of plants (and a few friendly cats). There are two sets of bathrooms, one with lovely hot water. A kitchen service provides breakfast (very good, very cheap) plus teas/coffees/flasks... More

I stayed at Dahab hostel for a week in February. This is an amazing place and the best choice if you want to stay in Cairo. Cairo is crazy :) and can be really overwhelming. That's why it is so important to find a good place. After an intense day, trying not to die while crossing the street it is... More

Stayed at the Dahab for three nights in October. It's clean, there are numerous shared bathrooms kept spotless, the wifi is free, there's no shortage of fellow travelers to talk to, a friendly staff, and the location is just a couple blocks walk from Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum, the Nile River, and countless good koshery or shwarma restaurants. In downtown Cairo, located on the roof of a multi-storey building. Great contrast to the noisy dirty city. The most rooms were very simple, they have just two beds. The toilets were OK for Backpacker. There were many nice people and we had great evenings on the rooftop. But the incredible number (we counted more than 30)and therefore bad-looking cats... More
