Stayed at the Ana Kato (number one) in March 2012. We where with a group of 10 and actually occupied all of the rooms of that compound, which was nice because it felt like our own private hotel. The architecture of this place is very colourful and unique and most wonderfully at the end of the village of Gharb Soheil,... More

The decor of Ana Kato is fanciful, architecturally unique, whimsical, and abounding in color and light. I have never snapped so many photos of the exterior of a hotel! We arrived around midnight and awoke to a lilting tambor serenade under a spreading Ficus tree. The staff couldn't have been more friendly. The room was dark, and could have used... More

Ana Kato is so fun! It is different from any other place we’ve stayed. It is unique, colorful and quirky. We arrived at Ana Kato during a dust storm, but were immediately welcomed by Shymaa. We had pre-booked half board and she suggested we eat dinner in our room because of all the blowing dust. The staff carried in a... More

My husband and I stayed here for a few days after Cairo and before heading onto Luxor. It was the perfect getaway from the craziness of the big cities. Anakato is one of the only places to stay in a small numbian village outside of Aswan. It is right on the river and offers beautiful views. The food is fantastic... More

This guesthouse was the highlight of all my travels in Egypt. I had seen photos of the place and planned my trip around a visit to Aswan just to stay at Ana Kato. It did not disappoint. The setting is incredible in a quiet little Nile-side village outside Aswan and the Nubian-style decor was colourful and charming with great attention... More

It's difficult to write this review because this place has potential, but I can only comment on what my experience WAS and not what it COULD HAVE been. I had high hopes for Ana Kato and on my travels across Egypt, this was the place I was looking forward to the most because it looked so cool on the website.... More

I must say being an Egyptian, one gets used to the usual locations for vacationing, and it is hard to be impressed. However, Ana Kato is a different experience. As we've gotten to know, Ana Kato means "My Home" in Nubian, and it is just that. You feel at home while you are there, and it is not your typical... More

My friend and I stayed at Ana Kato last weekend, the hotel is located directly by the Nile and has spectacular view, we felt that we lived at a Nubian house and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. You must try the Nubian bread there:) If you want to relax and have a great time, you must visit Ana... More

Needing a weekend of relaxation from Cairo and the hassle of politics, my Egyptian girlfriends and I picked Anakato for a destination. And a great pick to was!! Location is amazing in the middle of Nuba, view from the room was pure heaven, where you can sit and do some serious bird-watching (Nuba is an amazing site for bird lovers).... More

The best time ever in Aswan.. and I've been there quite a few times. This time we stayed at Anakato Nubian House in Gharb Soheil and it was a fantastic experience :) the hotel location is great right on the nile.. their buffet is as tasty as Egyptian traditional food gets, great breakfast (better than my grandmothers'). The rates where... More
