The Hotel St. Joseph overlooks the Nile River and is an ideal location for touring Luxor. The hotel is a little dated, but clean and has a great included buffet breakfast in the adjoining restaurant. In the morning, you can go out on your balcony and watch the hot air balloons float down the Nile. The roof top restaurant/bar is... More

This is very good value for money. Very clean with a helpful staff. We were long stay so got a very good rate. The breakfast is quite good - although we did supply our own cereal (muesli and Weetabix) as we do not find Egyptian cerials to our taste. They do a very good evening meal deal, involving vouchers. This... More

Great views of the Nile from the rooftop bar/swimming pool area. A budget hotel, but in need of a refurb. Bed linen needs renewing - frayed edges and same is true of the other facilities, including 'fridge, phone socket and light bulbs. Room constantly smelt of cigarette smoke. The hotel didn't have the courtesy to respond when we e-mailed regarding... More

Excellent value hotel where the staff go well out of their way to make you feel welcome. Lovely room, excellent air con and satellite tv. Pool area is great and pool is heated in winter. However they turned the heated water off when it reached 102 degrees. Fine, but you felt the cold water again when it dropped down to... More

Myself and a friend have just spent a week at this hotel. We found nothing to complain about, every area is always spotless, clean bedding and towels every day. Our room was at the front of the hotel (room 402), it can be a bit noisy but once you close the window its not too bad. The staff are always... More

This hotel is a little tired, but more than adequate as a base in a good position. If you want 5 star glitz and a big size hotel with gardens, then it is not for you. Our room had a balcony with a Nile view, two comfy beds, a large fridge, a modern air con/heater ( needed in the winter... More

This was easily the best place we stayed on our tour, covering basically all of Egypt. Saint Joseph had nothing I could ever really complain about, not that I ever complain about anything anyway. The rooms were well fitted out and had continual hot water (I now appreciate hot water after visiting the middle east) were quiet by Egyptian standards... More

We chose this hotel because it was a bit outside the city centre, breakfast was included and there's a rooftop pool. The rooms were clean and the hotel mostly quiet, despite being located on a major street longing the Nile. There was also a good selection of food for breakfast. The pool is a good alternative to the heat, even... More
