We are a family of 4 (boys 9 & 11) and have just returned from a fantastic trip to Egypt where we felt safe and cared for the entire time - without exception the Egyptians were utterly lovely people. Being our 1st trip travelling 'off piste' with children we stayed only in 5 star hotels. Our family favourite was Al... More

This is a very special hotel and we loved it. An earlier reviewer thought it looked tired, we thought it looked wonderful. The quirkiness of the antiique furniture, the thought which has gone into creating so many places to relax, the eccentricity of the bedrooms and bathrooms, the fabulous pool and the gardens all make for a wonderful place to... What a delightful respite in Luxor. From the moment we arrived the staff tended to our every need. The room was lovely, the pool area was very comfortable and we found the food quite delicious. Yes, you do need to take a taxi to go anywhere but it certainly is not a long distance to the sights we were interested... More

Everything previous posters say. It's very had to compare with anything else I've stayed at. A real labor of love by the owner. Built from nothing is the most amazing artisans & collections of antiques & curios. Each room unique. Quiet, away from the Luxor noise, but very accessible to the west bank attractions. Food generally good (depending on what... More

Dear GreySuit T Thank you for taking the time to review Al Moudira Hotel on Tripadvisor. Your comments are important to us. We are not sure, if you were aware of the fact, that we offer free WIFI, but the range is only around the reception area. So if you tried using your computer in your room, then you had... More

We stayed in Al Moudira for a full week to relax, enjoy the sun and visit a couple of historic sites in Luxor. It is unbelievable what Zeina realized in the dry desert on Luxor's westbank! This perfect boutique retreat is really a "hide-out from a thousand fairy tales". Every detail in the architecture offers something special, Arabic antiques, specific... More

This place is unlike any other hotel in which we've ever stayed. Words can't properly explain -- check out the pics. Service was good, laundry was very inexpensive and the restaurant was good. We particularly enjoyed having breakfast in the sun in the outdoor area. The rooms are absolutely enormous and have very high ceilings. There is free wifi in... More

We stayed at this hotel in November 2012 on a friends recommendation. Maybe our expectations were too high but we were a little dissappointed with this hotel. The concept was lovely and the decor reminiscent of earlier times but somehow it felt a bit tatty. The gardens needed weeding, the fountains weren't working and some of the furniture was in... More

From the moment we walked up the path into the lobby, everything was magical. Absolutely every focal point is a work of art, showing the remarkable eye for detail of the owner. We couldn't stop taking pictures whereever we looked : the patios, the pool, the poolhouse, the vegetation, the lobby, the courtyard, the lounge, the restaurant, it is all... More

This is one of my favorite hotels in Luxor and it's in my opinion one of the best design hotels in all Egypt. It is located on the West Bank, close to the Valley of the Kings. It is highly recommended for: - Honeymooners. - Travellers who would like to enjoy a memorable stay away from the crowd of Luxor.... More
