This is a good hotel in a good location in the hutongs and the main sightseeings in Beijing. The rooms are clean and makes me feel warmth in a lovely home. Jerry and Sam are very friendly and helpful when I needed help and they speak relatively good English. Free laundry service which was convenient for us. However, breakfast is... More

I stayed there in April 2012 and really enjoyed being in a hutong area. Beijing has really fascinating, dynamic, animated old neighborhoods and really boring new ones. The area around CGH is really worthy of mention as there are old hutongs all around and a restored / protected street 5 minutes to the West full of cute shops and restaurants... More

This has to be the best hutong hotel in Beijing. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily and the beds comfy, which was a lovely change as all the beds we stayed in felt like sleeping on old doors. The breakfast in the morning was basic but free unlike the other places we stayed in. The manager spoke good english... More

This hotel is situated in the heart of the Hutong area of Dongcheng District. Close to featured shopping streets and Shichaihai. The room is designed and furnished with a character of traditional China. The kids love the place compared with fancy carpeted hotels. Jerry, who owns the hotel, and Sam even welcomed us on the first day at the street... More

I don't know what to think about the many positive reviews I read before choosing this hotel. I was expecting a cozy, typical inn (this is what we were looking for): what I found was a modest b&b, looking more like a hostel for backpackers and, this is the worst part, it was quite dirty. Does "typical" implies "dirty"? We... More

Located in an interesting hutong district. This small courtyard hotel is built around an attractive courtyard where guests gather for breakfast, tea and respite from the crowds of Beijing. Rooms are attractively decorated, with modern bathrooms and good showers. Best feature of all are Sam and Jerry the owners of the hotel. They speak good English and will help organize... More

We arrived in Beijing via train with heaps of dirty laundry and a dire need for a hot shower and softer bed. So glad we were booked into this B&B/ upmarket hostel. Jerry took all our laundry and washed and dried it for free. The shower was strong and hot! Bed was comfy :) Wifi was excellent and easy to... More

We stayed here by accident as our other hotel had double booked us. What a nice surprise we had, the rooms are charming, a flat screen tv and good shower. The staff , Sam and Jerry were great hosts and we loved the communal aspect of the courtyard. And the free waters were a godsend

We couldnt find availability in any of the other top 6 hutongs and ended up with Courtyard view for our recent stay in Beijing - Definitely worth getting down the list even though I typically dont go down that far in the list. Hutong is in a central location (about 15min walk from Beixinqiao station in Red line?). Alternatively you... More

We stayed in the courtyard view for about 10 nights, with a group of 7 persons. The advantages: - great atmosphere ( small courtyard to read/chat ) - free laundry, wifi or computer use - friendly staff ( always helpful, trusteable, ... ) - nice enough rooms: airco, flatscreen, shower... - the area ( gulou dongjie, nanluoguxiang ) is one...
