This hotel is not easy to find, that's the first thing I would say but once you find this gem the staff are friendly and speak English very well. Nothing is too much trouble. The room we had was clean and tidy but don't expect 5 stars and breakfast was fresh cooked daily with a reasonable western choice of breakfast... More

Strong points: 1. Rooms and interior courtyard looked very well designed with traditional chinese decor. Lots of beautiful pot flowers added to experience. 2. Breakfast was good and varied. 3. Staff spoke english fluently. 4. Location is close to metro. Week points: 1. There was no fridge in our room. 2. Class ceiling in the courtyard was very dirty. It... More

I stayed one night, booked it last minute and was only staying in Beijing for one night. I went from the airport to the Forbidden City and took the subway to this hotel. I got out of the station and used my iphone to find the location of this hotel. Well let me tell you, Im ashamed to say it... More

The premise of a hutong is to experience what life was like in these old neighborhoods in the early 20th century. Our room, one level above the ground floor was dark. The beds were small hard platforms covered by thin mattresses. The bathroom was very small, perhaps 5 x 5 feet (using the shower meant getting the toilet wet). The... More

The hotel worth being discovered and staff members are really kind and helpful. The decoration typically Chinese is beautiful and rooms are comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. We were really amazed by the neighborhood and people who are friendly. We definitely recommand the Imperial Courtyard Hotel. Betty & Marie

The service here was excellent. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and everybody I spoke to spoke very good English. The room was clean and comfortable - the best room I have stayed in in Beijing. The bed is hard, but ALL beds in Chinese hotels are hard; this is the 9th hotel I stayed in in China, and... More

Stayed for 8 days with partner in their smallest room over one of the colder Beijing winter weeks on record. As an Australian who gets nervous when the minimum drops below 10C, a week of sub zero outside was comfortable here. Andingmen station is close and gives good access to the rest of the network. Staff were amazing, eager to... More

We stayed at Imperial Courtyard Hotel for a week in the end of October - beginning of November 2012. It was quite hard to find the hotel with the taxi because it is lost in a tiny hutong. And if you do not have the sense of direction, it may be hard every time you come back to the hotel... More

Small hotel on a narrow alley in the "Hutong" - the oldest area of Beijing (see attached photo - can you see the hotel sign at the end of the alley?). I spent five nights there from 11/17 to 11/21, while visiting my son in China. On the "plus" side, the hotel provides more of an "authentic" Chinese hotel experience.... More
