Yarina Lodge is a budget choice on the outskirt of the amazon near Coca. It is one of the first lodges and it only feels remote because it is located on a smaller river that flows in the Rio Napo. One disapointment is that at the junction of the two rivers you can see in the distance the flame of... More

Yes, the service was good. But we have made a very sad expereance. After the lunchtime we saw a group of Ecuadorians arriving in the lodge. They looked like normal people do, wearing Jeans and T-shirt. They directly were lead to the leaders house and we were wondering what they were doing. In the afternoon the leaders told us to... More

set in the jungle up a short tributary of the Napu river, consists of communal hut doubling as dining area, bar, kitchen, meeting point and general lazing-around hangout (and home for the resident green parrot who vets all who come and go), and around twenty stand-alone twin-bedded bamboo huts with en-suite. Also a larger building for staff and guides accommodation.... More

We loved Yarina. 30 min flight from Quito, 1 hour boat ride deep into the jungle where the lodge was. 3 fresh meals a day. We do not eat meat, but we do eat fish...we let them know (thinking we would get only veggies each day), they gave us fish and fried veggies at times. The trips were hot and... More

Don't know what folks really expect when they go 40 minutes down the Napu in an open boat and yes it is remote and there is no electricity except for a few hours a day. There are no roads and it is only accesable by river, good food, friendly people and all in all great service. No it isn't the... More

We'd just come back from Ecuador and stayed at Yarina during a 4-day trip to the Amazon. I had arranged the trip myself prior to our travel from England. Everything went smoothly and our emails were replied quite quickly (within a day) - although you do have to be patient and might have to rephrase some questions before they understand... More

We went with a tour and did not pick this lodge ourselves. There are 26 small cabins. It is in the Amazon Rainforest so very basic. Electricity is available from 6-10 pm each night only. Water is warm as long as too many people don't shower at the same time. The food was lacking. The main dish was served to... More

This is really a great place to be!!! The location is good, cabanas are very nice and big enough and every has his own bathroom. (toilet and shower) You have 3 times a day the possibility to make excursions and the groups are not too big. The guide explain everything and if you want to to a special excursion, it... More

Avoid this place, it looks great in photos but the hygiene there is appalling. The showers in the cabins is minimal and hot water or even warm water is rare. The cleaning of the cabins is minimal between guests, they change the sheets and towels and that is about all. WORST OF ALL THE CABINS ARE INFESTED WITH BED BUGS.... More

According to the title, this hotel is in Quito, which it is not. It is about a half hour plane ride, and a one hour boat ride away from Quito, out in the Amazon jungle. I stayed here alone and was very pleased with it. The lodge was about an hour's ride from Coca city, and to me it definitely... More
