This very old building has been restored with love and exquisite taste. Lots of wood, wonderful antique furniture and interesting pictures and artefacts. We didn't particularly like the 1st room we were given so we were shown 2 others and opted for one on the top floor which had a splendid view. BUT don't have one at the top unless... More

I spent the night at hotel Relicario del Carmen with my husband. We had high expectations after all the reviews we had read, but in fact we got disappointed. Even though the hotel was empty, we were given a tiny little room with a ridiculous bathroom. We also didn't find this hotel particularly friendly and welcoming. I wouldn't recommend it. More

An ordinary door in an ordinary street - what a surprise when we went inside: so much character, lovely personal service, good food, spotlessly clean room. More

If you are looking for a small , personal hotel, which oozes character, in the centre of the old colonial quarter in Quito , this is it . We stayed there twice on the same trip , in 2 different rooms and found the accomodation very comfortable and quiet . You feel you are back in old colonial Quito ,... More

This hotel is in an old building that has been restored with beautifully detailed woodwork around covered courtyards. The rooms and beds were very comfortable, and each room was different. The location in the Ciudad Vieja was very convenient for exploring this World Heritage site. The staff were extremely helpful with maps, directions, suggestions for restaurants, and with getting us... More

Overall Comfortable, clean and recommendable. Hotels in this part of Quito are all over the map in terms of quality and price, and there isn't much competition in the nice, small, 'moderately-priced' hotels category, but there is this niggling feeling that the rates are pitched higher than they need to be. Location The RdC is very conveniently located for visitors... More

Originally built as a home around 1720, this hotel is well situated on a busy street a few blocks from the cental square. The open courtyards have been covered over and most of the rooms face inward. Rooms vary in size and layout . Ask to see the room you are assigned. Some have small bathrooms with large steps. The... More

Our double room was a twin on the second floor - it was extremely small and dark, with a single tiny skylight. The ensuite bathroom was also tiny (the shower was just 20inches wide). A small room would have been fine had there been comfortable places in the hotel to hang out - but there aren't. There is a "reading"... More

Thank you for writing this review. We take it very seriously. Here the facts: because of a credit card problem you promised already at check-in to write a very negative review of our hotel. You were convinced that we had charged you twice. Finally you calmed down as you understood that such a thing we never would do. Anyway... you... More

I stayed at this elegant little gem of a hotel for two nights on my way to the Galapagos. The room was minute, but nicely furnished and comfortable, with a small but adequate shower cubicle. My only (minor) criticism was that the bedside lamps were linked to the main room light. The staff were very helpful, the desk clerk (at... More

This small, charming hotel is perfectly located in Quito's old colonial district, which to my mind is the only place to stay in Quito unless you are only there for business or else you can't stand anything that isn't totally modern. The staff was one of the friendliest and most helpful I have ever encountered in my extensive travels. And... More
