I stayed at this hostel for 5 days and really liked it. It's on a quiet street, and they have lovely communal areas and the people who worked there were super friendly. It's located in the touritic part of Quito, but at the hostel they gave me all the information about busses and metro lines, and I just explored the... More

We booked one night in Hostal Jhomana based on the prices advertised on hostelworld, which was $20.37 each for a twin room and ensuite. However, when we arrived we were told that the price did not include taxes and we ended up forking out $23 each which I consider misleading. Futhermore, the room was average, dark and damp with no... Nice clean hostel in good location. Good WiFi, decent complimentary breakfast of juice, toast, bananas, coffee/tea. Owner, Patrick, was very helpful in suggesting places to visit, and arranged for a tour for us. Definitely consider staying there again.

This was our first stop on a three week holiday in ecuador and galapagos. Unfortunately I couldnt recommend it. Our room was downstairs to the front of the building and was so damp and musty, it was terrible. It was difficult to tell if it was clean as it so musty and damp. Location was not bad and breakfast was... More

When you have something to complain on, you should do it while you are experiencing it and not do it after words, because then we cant help you. I am very sorry for your experience. Jhomana has 18 rooms, 12 upstairs and 6 downstairs. After rainy season that ends in May, we sometimes need to renovate rooms, it depends on... More

Natalia and Patrick couldn't be nicer or more helpful. I arrived from US with a bad back I hurt in the Houston airport. They led me to a greatl physical therapist and within a week I was able to get around. They and their place are fabulous. I was there for a month and enjoyed everyday thanks to their knowledge... Firstly, excellent free wifi and computer for guest use. Breakfast consists of toast and coffee which does the job. No one spoke even basic English so bear that in mind. Close to some shops so good location in that respect. Was quiet after 9pm so that was good. Plug sockets were hanging off in room, beds were very far from... More

There are some good things about this place - good size rooms, good location for restaurants etc in new town, good security, wifi in the room. However, on the two nights we stayed there a huge group of loud, obnoxious and completely oblivious American tourists (late teens/early twenties) were staying there and kept the whole hostel awake with their yelling, shouting,... My friends and I booked this hostel for 9 nights as it seemed to be a good location and was a good point to stay for our adventures while sight seeing around Quito. What we found was this... upon arrival they wanted the total amount paid up front. The fellow working the front desk was pleasent, but new and did... More

Dear Carolyn! I am sorry that you are disappointed. There is always a first day at work. Our aim is to always have staff around that speaks English. I booked a room for a single with bath based on the reviews here. I was supposed to be met by a driver at the airport but that was messed up. Staff were great, but the room was not. The bed was comfortable in room 206 but after that it was all downhill. Every time I managed to doze off... More
