Hello,
My wife and I went to see 14 mid-range hotels and hostals for a visit of my sister and her family to the Mariscal. It is amazing how much they vary in quality and how little one can ascertain from the hotel websites and photos! In the end we thought this was the best one and they stayed there...

I'd heard about the hotel from the family friends, who greatly recommended it, and they were absolutely right
1) SERVICE: the service is professional, helpful and nice - the receptionists are always there, ready to assist in anything (so friendly as well!), the rooms are cleaned on a daily basis, and (good) breakfast is served quickly. The hotel has also...

Very nice hostel, staff are so helpful and friendly. Clean, hot water, nice garden, would use again.
We had the room that only had a window into the breakfast area but that didn't really bother us. Could be noisy at night depending on who was staying but you can get ear plugs from reception, and it's usually only for a...

We stayed at Hotel Cayman for a few nights with some friends. We made our reservations online and then made some adjustments, which were confirmed right away. They have free wifi. The breakfast included is good. Rooms are clean. Bathroom is small but nice. It was difficult to get adequate hot water in the shower. It would come out hot...

After a quick...

I stayed in "New Town" Quito for 3 nights at Hotel Cayman in Feb 2010 while trekking through Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. If you are a no-frills traveler looking for decent accommodations at a reasonable price ($28/night for a single when I was there), this is it. It's also secure, well located, and has hot water (albeit only in...

My sister and I stayed here for four nights before and after a trip to the Galapagos. We absolutely adored Hotel Cayman and are recommending it to everyone. The staff was very friendly, even though we didn't speak any Spanish. One of the clerks, Fernando, even got up at 5:30 am to let us out of the front gate (which...

The hostel was pretty basic, but we had all that we needed - private double room with en-suite shower room, basic breakfast included in the room price, free internet access, and good, cheap laundry service.
The staff seemed pleasant and helpful enough.
Very good location for bars, restaurants and other tourist "needs" such as convenience stores and second hand book...
