I had trouble finding this hotel. The address in Lonely Planet is wrong, but the city map icon is correct. The price was $40/night, higher than I thought. Room was nice and offered a balcony. Nice big rooms, absolutely spotless, great showers. Friendly staff, really good breakfasts. Very enjoyable 2 day stay.

Posada del Rey is a traditional Spanish colonial house with metre thick walls and a central internal courtyard, all nicely refurbished. It is wonderfully located within 5 minutes of the cathedral, main square, markets and museums. The two ladies generally on reception were polite, friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier.
