Loved the setting, close to the cathedral and the central area. Jenny was outstanding as a host, offering great advice, helping us get a great deal at the spa and just being accommodating about everything.

The hotel is in an attractive, old colonial building, with lots of wood and an elegant staircase. The room was nicely decorated and had a lovely view of the cathedral, although I noticed the finish was a bit rough round the edges, especially in the bathroom. My only real problem with all that wood is that noise carries, so bring...

often, when you ask for a single room in a hotel you get the "shabby ones" that go to the inner courtyard or are tiny. Here I had the feeling that they offered me the best room they have. A hugh room with an exceptional view on the cathedral. I really loved it and enjoyed the clean room with nice...

Of you are considering staying here, don't even give it a second thought, just do it. The rooms are amazing for what you pay, double bed, private bathroom, a balcony that overlooks the 'New Cathedral' and a warm and inviting covered courtyard. As a bonus there is also free wifi and cable tv in the rooms.
We were in Cuenca for our honeymoon.
This is a cosy hotel on plaza san Francisco with tons of charm. Old creaky wood floors, nice interior and a balcony with a view of the cathedral and the plaza. Clean bathroom and towels with complementary soap and shampoo.
The hotel is run by 3 ladies who are great and do everything...

the whole place is like an old mansion. from the street, you enter a courtyard where the restaurant and reception are, rooms are all around it, on the second level. it can get noisy as the hotel is right next to a small market, but the most noise we had was from an unruly toddlers and helpless parents staying next...

I am back in Ecuador-- ready to make return reservations at Cofradia del Monje -- I stayed here 10/2011. Walk to market, Cathedrale, colonial Cuenca, shops. The special young women who work hard to make this place possible, cook the meals and offer sweet hospitality to guests are my favorite part of this place. The sounds of the Mass and music...

The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Too noisy to sleep well. Good view of the churches, but the area was not too great, seemed dirty or trashy. We moved to a better hotel
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was attentive when request were made, small bar downstairs in dining area, breakfast of eggs, juice, coffee, bread and jam comes with room.
The view is good of the church and market from the room, lots of hustle bustle outside on the street and market which you can hear from the room. That...

I stayed here for 4 days and it was lovely. Decorated in what I call "Shabby Chic", with an internal courtyard, my room was lovely, with hot water that worked and extra things that made it feel cozy. The staff was sweet and helpful, the breakfast sufficiently nourishing to keep me going. I chose a room with no external windows...
