La Maison del Solar is a basic, inexpensive hotel in the heart of Arequipa--less than a 5 minute walk from the Cathedral and the main plaza. For the money, it can't be beat. Although basic, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The proprietor, Mr. Rosand, is more than helpful and scrupulously trustworthy. Via email, he assisted with all my travel...

La Maison del Solar is a basic, clean and affordable hotel in a very central location of Arequipa. We read about the noise complaints here on Tripadvisor and asked for a quiet room in our booking request. We promptly received an email that we would be able to chose from a number of different rooms to see which was the...

During our four week trip in Peru, this is the only property that we found disappointing. Based on the reviews we had read here, we expected a much different place. If we had known what to really expect, perhaps we wouldn’t have been so disappointed (or we might have booked elsewhere). In retrospect, we find that many of the previous...

As this person says we are a cheap hotel with some good basic services. There are persons who pay for silver but ask for gold. The n ature of our hotel is to give a good service for a best value price. We are one of the cheapest places of hotles similar to us. We are directed to people who...

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It is a no frills place perfectly located to walk around arequipa's city center. The owner/operator was very nice and helped us find and map vegetarian restaurants in the city. We used their airport pick up service and were surprised to find out the owner herself did the driving. Small, simple hotel...

the hotel is very close to the plaza de armas. we had a room facing the street, which generated a lot of traffic noise. the breakfast is bread and crap coffee. the rooms were dirty and i don't think they have a maid service as our room was never picked up. the internet was spotty. not sure why this place...

The traffic noise is llready handled, we are putting double windoos to avoid traffic noise that is coomon in Peru. We cannot do anythign to honk honrning because here are no laws to forbid hrn honking.
continental breakfast includes fresh fruit juicy (either paw paw with orange or pineapple juicy) milk, coffe or tea, butter, jam and breads. We are...

After staying in good accommodations in Peru, I encountered a terrible experience with La Maison in Arequipa. For me, the standard is more of a hostel than a hotel. Althought the location is generally close to the main plaza, but the hotel itself is very cramped with narrow corridors, small guest rooms, tiny bathroom just about 3 square meters. A...

We are sorry to read this review.. Not everything can be the worst in our
place, neither can be the best here and in any place, but this review has a fierce hate and insulting
content. All the negative comments obey to a missunderstood of the person who
writes this hate and fierce review. He stayed 3 nights in La Maison...

We stayed there for two nights. The rooms were small, it was very noisy - the room was beside the main road to the plaza and there was noisy traffic day and night. The breakfast was poor - I do not recommend staying at this establishment. there are better places to stay in the wonderful city of Arequipa.

Regarding traffic noise, centre of Arequipa has a lot of traffic and there are no
laws that prohibit horn honking but noise is not all night and day, it is just at certain hours. Nevertheless some our rooms have double window and are going to add double windos to the ones that do not have it. We also will add...

Having just spent two weeks in Peru with my partner, we have found the “star” rating of hotels in the country to be extremely unreliable. The variability between the 3* hotels we stayed in was enormous: some were no better than a basic hostal, others more like a luxurious 4*. You must be aware of it upon booking. Generally the...
